@@ReidStefanMusic you know the 'recording when you're not recording thing' you keep saying ableton has.. it's not the only daw that has it.. i use capture recording in logic all the time
This is very creative. Start project and pass to different channel where Karra can continue session in her own style, which keeps watching the videos exciting
This taught so much more than it had any right too. Way more helpful for learning Ableton for ANY genre than any skillshare or similar paid tutorial. Much appreciate!! This makes me so sad my three month trial ended already I didn't utilize nearly enough. Time to start saving money for standard addition I guess.
been waiting for a tutorial from you for so long !!!! 🥲🥲🥲 i’ve probably watched your first loop to song video so much that i couldn’t watch it anymore cause i’ve seen it like 10 times 🤣
I discovered the sidechain compression with everything I wanted by billie eilish and one more time by daft punk, but I never realized how it's litteraly used all the time! Glad to see you back with such a long tutorial 👍
smart production leave room for vocals. But you can do frequency side chain. Do guitars do guitars. I wanna see how you mix electric guitars with vocals. That's a bit hard.
For those that like to loop in Ableton, here’s the clip slot looper. It’s an M4L device that’s converts clips slots into loopers: performancelooper.com/product/audio-clip-slot-looper-for-ableton-live/
Nice video, thanks! I was wondering if there is some way to stack those two sidebars in the clip view on top of each other instead of side-by-side? The default side-by-side-view is really a waste of screen real estate. Would rather see more of the piano roll.
I wanna be able to make beats like this already. Reid, you are freaking amazing. Got my vocals down thanks to you and Karra, for some reason I am having trouble with making beats. I get the courage to start then everything seems so complicated so I give up on it. I'm so completely new to producing so I re watch your videos on making beats but I can't keep up. Do you have any tips for me to keep it simple? Maybe like an analogy or something? I'm just trying to think of an easier way to approach everything that goes into a beat haha My main focus are hip hop/r&b/pop and eventually EDM but I'd like to start with Hip Hop so I can start producing my own beats but I like synths so maybe I should stay away from mixing the two for now? Idk, just in need for some guidance from you. You're the only producer on RU-vid I have been able to learn from
I’d say to pick a daw, so if you’re using ableton for example, look up stuff like “making a beat in ableton” and watch a lot of different people make beats of your preferred genre using the daw. I’ve learned from picking things up from watching people. I have a hard time making melodies so I use a lot of different loops from splice and change them around to make it my own, then add simple drums. That’s where I’d start if I were you
Would love to see some more Charlie Puth/general purpose top 40 pop production stuff. This is super cool but not quite what I think of when I think of “pop”
Sick beat, but why use PT for vocal production in part 2 when Ableton 11 has take lanes? Also, does Reid record the puppet cam at the same time as he's producing or is he doing it after? Either way it seems like it would be very tedious crouching under the desk for long stretches of time. If he's recording it at the same time, how does he move the puppet at the same time as producing (In sync with talking and music? Surely one would need two hands to produce so efficiently? Does his arm get tired? Is Karra or someone else helping offscreen by holding the puppet? I appreciate and admire the effort that goes into these videos and I always learn so much but these questions wouldn't leave me alone for ages now and I end up missing some of the info because of this. I just want to know the answers so bad!
hi i have a question, at the beginning you take the voices from a kit with alot of voices. how can i get it? and if it costs money can i get somethign similler for free?
Do i need use sends with reverbs and put a send on each track that i wanted to process with space plugins? What should i do if i'd wanna mix my project in other daw, should i turn off my reverbs and delays before, and do a multitrack complete dry?
at 1:45 could you talk through how you figured out what key to be in, were you playing those notes on your keyboard, just trying to found out what works?
Can anyone tell me what is that command when he said "even when you didnt record it you record it" i mean what is that hide command where you press any keys and it recorded it..if anyone knows please tell..
If you look along the very top of the screen where the Ableton Playback/record controls are, it’s the button near the top center that has a square outline icon (besides the button with the automation icon)
I didnt get that part where reid said that karra made these serum bass presets from her voice..and then something from wavetable..can someone tell me what does he exactly mean..?? Can someone make these bass presets from their voice??
Hi! I can explain. I have two serum packs on sale on splice snd whole loops. We recorded my voice and put them into a wave table in serum to make all these sounds, so yes they were indeed made our of my voice!
You can drop any audio file into that green wavetable window of Serum, to convert it into a synth. We did this with Karra’s vocals and made two preset libraries 👍🏻
