@@timothyissler3815 Napalm will take just about anything and I do mean ANYTHING. Christopher Bowes, singer of Alestorm, literally did shit called Christopher Bowes and his Plate of Beans.... Napalm Records released it
To quote my favourite Nanowar song : "Sit down all you little children Listen well to me I'll tell of Blind Guardian Dragonforce and Rhapsody To listen to their songs You need to know a lot of things And read at least seventy times The "Lord Of The Rings""
@@fishymachine Most Power Metal from before 2010 took itself extremely seriously. Even if the image was over the top and ironical, the music was always dead serious. Might also be why all of the modern "satire and obviously a joke Power Metal" bands kind of suck. The fact that they are just doing it for fun and as a joke also creeps into the music itself.
A metal head friend told me once - the worse the cover the better the metal. And it’s absolutely true for power metal. You can put cheese upon cheese and it will just work beautifully. Fantastic video!
So let me get this straight: anime references - check Vtuber references - check Japanese bands references - check Yes it is official, How to make Kawaii metal is definitely happening
While I enjoy most everything in the metal genre, Power Metal is what makes me the most happy. This month has sort of been a shit show, with my grandfather passing away from covid unexpectedly, it's been rough. Seeing something so fun, so very much in the spirit of the genre (as is trademark, y'all are badass like that) has helped to heal my soul a little bit. I feel honoured to live in a world in which passion projects like this channel can exist and be shared with others. Keep doing what you're doing, because you are fantastic, and genuinely talented as a musician. You clearly have a love for the types of music you cover and continually open me (and probably many others) to areas of the metal genre we wouldn't otherwise look.
Powerwolf, Rhapsody, Nightwish, Blind Guardian, Ayreon and a whole slew of bangers of bands! Respect gained [insert power metal version of the San Andreas Mission Passed theme]
This is legit awesome, we need an album, I need to know what happens when the group flies the dragon to Nuclear blast and gives them the demo. You can't just blueball us like this
This is why Power Metal is the best music in the world. It's all about fun and love for the music and it doesn't take itself grave seriously! And it's so full of amazing musicians and singers it's ridiculous! Absolutely love this video btw. Thank you Andri! I remember telling you a few months ago how much I wanted this video and man did you deliver 😁😁😁😁🎵🎵🎵
@@walalng I agree, to a point. It depends on the band and album, and my mood. Some bands I can only listen to a bit at a time, and others I can listen to loads of it.
I was always in a Death Metal group and I even play in a bunch of dm/grindcore bands, but power metal is still my favourite genre. I mean DnD meets metal, how can you not like it?
@@lukino666 Maybe because it is nice to know that a creator doesn't hate people who are just living their lives and not hurting anyone. As a cis guy who happens to have trans friends and family, I always appreciate shows of solidarity towards trans people, even if it is something as simple as a patch on a battle jacket.
This is the best How To Make yet: history lesson, music theory lesson, humor, production values, and a song masterclass that does a damn good job of explaining how Dragonforce rose to prominence. i've been patiently waiting for Power Metal to take its turn on the HTM carousel, and I must say it's been worth it.
Well, to be honest, Andri never disappoints us with an astonishing song. I really like power metal and symphonic metal, and this song is definitely on my list of best songs ever.
This one hurt my soul. Should feel bad that I know and own music from every band in the vid. BEST YET from the gang here. Regardless of style ya folks make great music. Respect for all the talent here.
You know that we need a 7 hour anthology of your journey to take "the one song" to Nuclear Blast... Hey, no pressure, we can wait...like 2 weeks or so...
That's only really a thing that started happening the past 10 years. Most of the best Power Metal was made during the 90s and 00s, a time when the genre took itself extremely seriously. That was part of the appeal for me, a bunch of dudes singing about dragons and wizards, while being dead serious about it. Sure, it was tongue in cheek, but they always took it very seriously, and even if the band had a satirical image, there was never any question about the music being serious. That's the main problem with the new parody bands. Their music also sounds like a dumbed down parody of the genre.
@@Melodeath00 Completely agree!! It's really funny how mainstream manages to make people think that one of the musically most sophisticated genre has anything to do with parody. This is very paradoxical! What a kick in the teeth for bands like e.g. Blind Guardian, who literally created one of the most valuable (and of course serious) music of our time. If these mainstream inundation phenomenons of modern time go on like this, they might become the first Bachs and Beethovens in history, that will be overlooked/forgotten over time.
@@stefanozundl-marx6387 I like how creative power metal can be when it is taken seriously, I mean Van Canto make jokes about their music but what they do is honestly impressive. I saw an interview of the lead guitar singer playing riffs on his guitar and then singing them afterwards and he explains how he writes riffs for Van Canto. Or that sometimes it is the opposite where he will sing a riff because he doesn't have a guitar nearby and transcribe it to guitar later for his other band, that is some serious skills that he taught himself for a silly acapella power metal band.
I was the happiest man alive when you mentioned Avantasia. Without doubt one of my favourite and probably one of the best power metal band ever because Tobias Sammett takes every other power metal band and mixes them together. IT'S AWESOME!!!!!!
Absolutely brilliant song and video! I could not stop laughing! Funny as hell! I do like bands like Edguy and Rhapsody of Fire, they are really funny bands. Sabaton may be a bit too serious for me. I think this is the best Pagefire video so far. 🤘
That moment years into watching Pagefire's "How to" videos you realize you not only have laughed a lot but actually learned a lot. Thanks Pagefire. Because of Pagefire I was able to start a Post Punk Apocalyptic Power Doom Noise Porno Grind Gore Death Band
this was the most accurate power metal video i have ever seen; amazing work!! hilarious script, good info, and killer track \m/. also sick Nyanners tee ✨
Amazing song and full of nostalgia! Just made me remember the good times when I was discovering metal with bands as Blind Guardian, Nightwish and Angra :D
I asked this nerd friend of mine to mention some of the bands he liked. I quickly replied "Oh, so you like Power Metal?". He laughed at me with a smug face and said " Its called Fantasy Metal".
