GREAT VIDEO, Dowden! I really appreciate how you broke it down and showed us how to make a track like Alex O'Rion. As a Progressive House DJ, I've wanted to create my own tracks, but have felt it was very daunting to make this genre. After watching this video though it doesn't feel like that so much anymore. Now for me to watch more of your stuff to get more of a feel. I'm so happy to have found your channel and hope to be creating some tracks soon! Thank you! :)

I just realized that "Capricorn" is your song!! I heard it in a mix a couple of weeks ago - amazing song! Shazam gave me a match, and now i've realized it's actually you who made that song!! How many years did it take you to get to this level? I started about 3 or 4 years ago, but inconsistently, just learning the theory part but not actually trying to produce music until last year, i am stuck at about the 2:30 minute mark, and the one thing i hate the most are the bloody chords - i hate them from my guts! (for now) Chords and pads are confusing me, because i am not quiet sure if it will be a mistake if i use just a fat sounding progression of single notes with a big reverb as a pad or do i have to use chords as well (multiple notes) or to utilize them both in a song. I was watching Jonas Saalbach, a melodic techno producer showing his arrangement and he told "these are the pads", and those pads were actually chords - multiple notes at a time, so it's confusing me. Chords can be called pads too, yet chords must contain multiple notes, but the pad term does not strictly fall into the chord category, because both a single note progression and the conventional multiple notes chord progression might serve as a "pad", am i right? Anyway, this was a great tutorial indeed! I am happy i came across you bro.
