Oh that face you made at the end showed how tired you were. ❤ Thank you so much for coming home from working all day to make this video for us. I know I appreciate it and my family will too when I make this. ❤💕
Yes I was really tired. I work 10-12 hour days. But i have to be disciplined with myself and get it done. But I couldnt donit without Victor. Hes very helpful ❤🙏😇 . Thank you so much for watching. ❤
OMG... I should not be watching this at 930pm!! I feel like I'm in the cosina with my Mother and Abuelita!! Not many people really know how we ( Boricua) throw down!! Keep it up Papa!! Many blessings to you and your family!!🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷♥️♥️♥️♥️
Two and a half hours later I finally enjoy my burnt alcapurias without extra vitamins (all fingers still intact). But the kitchen looks like huracane Maria has gone through it. My whole family is devastated by all the mess. All in all, I am happy with my first homemade Puerto Rican Alcapurias in The FreakinRican style. Thank you!⚘
Hola freakin rican here I am watching this at 730issh in the morning n yup I will be doing this today yummy nada cómo nuestra comida boricua 🇵🇷🇵🇷👌🏼👌🏼🥰🥰 gracias a ti I’ve learned how to do pasteles y ahora alcapurria yummy ❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Freakin Rican....do you still use the small electric grater you demonstrated in a few of your previous videos? Next time I go to NY, I hope to go by your restaurant - I've been dying to check it out!
From what I remember, you soak the green bananas in warm water and you cut the ends in order to take the peel off. You brought some of my childhood memories alive. My mom will make these and some bacalao. At times she will cook for a large crowd at my father's baseball games. This is how she will earn money to buy our school clothes and supplies. I missed her cooking. Thank you for sharing. ❤❤❤❤
I am so jealous. My sister gets there on Tuesday. I told her SHE MUST GO to your restaurant. Our mom lives in Astoria. It couldn’t be more perfect. I wish I was going to NY as well. Next time. She will have to bring me adobo and Sazon and whatever else she can travel with. Can’t wait.
"When it tastes "Mmm" u know its gonna taste delicious" 😋 that's how I usually determine if I need to add more spices or not. Si e "Mmm" tiene que ser Bueno! 🤣😘🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷❤
Thanks for posting the video dude!! I really, really, really, enjoyed it. I have to say that you have a fantastic personality. Have a great day from Colorado Springs, Co. :-)
Yes! Your restaurant made it on the googles list of best pr restaurants In THE USA!! I haven’t even been to your place yet and I knew you would be listed! Congrats!!!!!
@@Thefreakinricanrestaurant lol. made them last night with white rice and beans, for my granddaughter and I, and they were amazing. p.s. I've never made them with sofrito in the masa before, what a difference. yum!
Your very welcome. The restaurant isnt going any where. January makes 3 years. Most restaurants dont make it past 1 year. Its a lot of work. To do it right. We got this! Love you for watching. Come by one day.
@@Thefreakinricanrestaurant Yes! I am very far, as I’m in Florida but I’m always there especially when you are helping with all the issues that have come up with our beloved PUERTO RICO!! I will order something from your business! I had ordered pasteles one time for my sister in Virginia and she raves about them!!!
I have been meat free for a year now and as a Rican...I miss my fav alcapurrias!!! I'm thinking of a way to maybe make a non meat version. Maybe black beans, corn, peppers?? It sucks big time & I miss pasteles!!!
Mostly My chronic health issues; I started juicing then being more adventurous & diligent about eating clean. I don't too much like jackfruit tho. Pero gracias
My sister is vegan so I have adapted a few recipes for her. For these and my pasteles I use chickpeas. I make them guisada and squish a few to make the stew thicker. I eat meat but I enjoy the ones I make for my sister just as much.
I'm SOOOO EXCITED that you showed this!!! This is literally my favorite PR food, next to this seafood mofongo that I got when I went to visit mi abuelita in Guayama...EVERYTHING in this mofongo was cooked to perfection...the shrimp, octopus, lobster, conch, & scallops, along w/the mofongo!! There's a couple things mi abuelita didn't make because they were too time consuming, so it's great to see that I can find them here!!!!😃👍
I used to think that Alcapurrias were the most hardest things to make but you make it look easy and explain it so well (in Spanish and English-the way I can relate! lol) that I will now give it a try! I love your food at your restaurant and at street fairs prior to 2020/recipes/videos! Thanx to Victor as well for being behind-the-scenes and showing us these delicious meals. Gracias! Love seeing Coco too --I have a NuyoRican pup-like Coco, Hispanic heritage. :) Stay healthy and well. Dios te Bendiga a todos. Peace...
Omgoshhhhh...i want oneeeeee!!!!! my mom makes the best alcapurrias in the world but im sure yours are good too...😁😜❤...by the way new subscriber here...lol
Great channel! I tried the bistec encebollado yesterday and it was excellent. Making alcapurrias today but I cheated and used a Ninja instead of grating.
Derrick they look freaking Rican delicious!! I haven't had one in like years. Thanks for sharing the recipe even after a long day at work. I saw your face after the camera cut like I'm going to bed. ❤️🙂
MI NOMBRE ES SAUL MARTINEZ DE PUERTO RICO......DONDE ESTAN USTEDES SITUADO EL RESTAUNT ME GUSTAN TUS RECETAS ...GRACIAS .Y BENDICIONES ..👍👍🙋♂️🙋♂️🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
I died when I heard coño love it! I’m Mexican but all my friends thought I was PR I talk fast in Spanish and say my my dialect is not Mexican and then I show up with pernil for a potluck, I’m like sorry my ex mother in law was PR and we always cooked together!
I came across this video oddly enough when looking for astrology videos 🤷🏻♀️ don’t ask me how yours popped up but I’m glad it did. Thank you for your recipe. I like your energy even though you were tired. I will make some alcapurrias soon pero con jueyes. 😉 💕✨
I’m going to try your S Sofrito Because when I moved to tPennsylvania from New York they don’t carry some of the ingredients I like to put in my Sofrito like cilantro. What I have been doing is substituting it with regular cilantro. But it doesn’t come out the same
Why not use fresh garlic, French onions? Achiote is Excellent laden with Vitamin E. De que vale tener viandas frescas si usas aderezos artificiales llenos de preservativos. “Pure vegetables” laden with polvos que están llenos de preservativos. Que lastima. No only taste… ALSO HEALTHY, Doesn’t take much to echarle culantro, cilantro etc. tanto a la masa y en especial a la carne. SLAMMING, HEALTHY, NUTRITIOUS. Ay déjate de eso. Aprende.
my friend where did you learn how to make alcapurrias? at the universidad of harvard perhaps? come down to piñones they will teach you to do alcapurrias, 🤣😂 but, i'm very proud of the puerto ricans new yorkers, for keeping our culture going strong in the big apple. keep up with the good work young man... and may GOD, BLISS you and family in the new year that's coming...🇵🇷🌈🏝🏖 from puerto rico, with love 🇵🇷🇵🇷
This is my first time seeing you on youtube and I never had seen anyone making the alcapurrias like you make them. I will be going to your restaurant tomorrow Saturday, February 13, 2021 and I will then put comments about your restaurant. I have the feeling that I am going to enjoy your food tomorrow. Keep cooking. I am a New York Rican same like you. Viva Puerto Rico.
Omg I’m gonna have to try this.. I live these and I can’t find any good ones in my town.. I’m just so scared lol.. But you showed how it’s done really well so I’m thinking maybe I can do it..
OMG Que castigo mi gente🤣 I live in South Jersey and I’ve been wanting to come visit the restaurant. I will one day with the family. Gracias por compartir la receta que tanto nos gusta🤤😍 Bendiciones y un abrazote para coco🐶😘
