Hello Healthy Cravers,
I’d like to share with you the benefits of radish, our main ingredients in our radish kimchi.
Through reading several materials I have known that they are rich in antioxidants and minerals like calcium and potassium. Together, these nutrients help lower high blood pressure and reduce your risks for heart disease. The radish is also a good source of natural nitrates that improve blood flow.
I believe preparing a side dish recipe you can consume on a daily basis would give you the maximum benefit of this root vegetable.
In this video I made, I pointed out 2 points to remember in your radish kimchi preparation.
First, if you are not a radish lover, salt them to reduce pungency, bitterness and the strong smell. I usually leave on a strainer the diced or julienned pieces for about 30 minutes. Salting also reduces excess water of the radish to sustain a non-watery side dish all through weeks.
Second, have the freedom to add condiments or herbs like Spring Onion and ginger or your culture brand of pepper. This creates a lovely fusion side dish. Just be ready, sometimes, it’s not very successful at first trials.
