Odin u think u can make this👀 . And i challenge u if u making this, can u see if u can make it turn from a whip sword that can turn to a normal sword with a hit of a button, huge respect goin to u if u can
@@SKSProps You made that sword look so cool... And speaking as a Raya fan, anyone cosplaying with that sword would feel the best. You should be really proud.
This is the. Amazing EST sword in the universe of all it's like A legendary sword made out of HD foam but how did you make That. Well I'm gonna try to make it I hope it work well by
I'm so glad all stores are closed due to covid and likely will be until April so I'm all out of crafting materials I can't get online, else I would be stuck with yet another pretty foam sword I could never use :') It looks great!!!
So, just commenting on this because it's most recent, would you say that your 2mm foam is a good choice for gauntlet fingers, I've tried other foam but it all ends up folding and just not wanting to be any shape, but when I thought about buying your foam, the higher density might be better because it will be a little stronger, or do you have any suggestions, I'm just looking for materials to use for the fingers that are preferably able to be cut with scissors easily, or a craft knife easily (easier than foamed pvc, that was a nightmare on my fingers and I only got like two pieces cut out)
this looks betetr them the cg version, love the details you add with paint layers, i have an art channel with some prop builds and you are an insiration
Can i just say. As someone who knows the sword a.k.a kris/keris/kalis it is an amazing job you've done. Let me tell you guys some fun fact about the kris. 1)It's not made only using one type of metal. It uses different type that is measured precisely according to whatever the kris holder wants or what the craftsman wants. 2) A typical kris would hv been smaller and light for combat but some kris are on abit of the larger side. 3) This is a cool fact. With a skillful craftsman and the right proportion you can balance it at the tip of the sharp end and no the tip is not pierce through something to stabilize it. Look it up on yt. 4) The metal work(body) and wood work(hilt) can hv countless designs and shape. Famous hilt designs are dragons and ship. 5)A gruesome fact, the reason it is created with waves is because once you pierce the inside of your enemy and you extract your kris, it will bring all your enemies insides to the outside. Tho you hv to pierce it quite deep. If you're on rage mode, your enemies will hv to be prepared to be disassembled haha 6) However, in the philosophy of the kris. Yes it has it's own philosophy. Kris is only used when all things cannot be talked, discussed, negotiate or simmer down because in the cultures that hv the kris, we result to non-violent first before doing anything that could physically harm others. Even the way to hold a kris is unique. We only hold it with one hand(dominant hand) while the other deflect the enemies movements. Kris fighting is phenomenal irl. All in all it is respected and full of philosophy. And anyone interested in learning more should search about it
I just love your channel. I'm making the right hand of doom now. I just need some foam clay. I need to hide some mistakes. Is there a good brand you recommend? I'm on the fingers now as I write this. I'm gonna order your clay foam when it's back in stock.
Luckily there is a large order on its way to the US currently. if the gaps or seams aren’t to big you could always use kwik seal or gap filla (from prop monkey studio) there is a difference between my clay and the others the formula is tweaked a bit
I just saw the movie and it’s was AMAZING and the sword you made looks movie quality it’s looks so good, now i wanna make the sword, i don’t have a printer, you you have rough measurements? because i can work from the pdf without printing i just need measurements😅
Awesome job as always Steve. Quick couple of questions: - what type of drill bit do you use on the foam, a wood bit? - when you say a smooth sanding bit for the rotary tool, what type of grit do you recommend, 220?
Thanks! I just use regular wood drill bits but because my foam is a higher density it holds up a lot better than most. My smooth sanding drum was a 220 but I grind it down on a concrete block and cost it with acrylic paint. then grind it again. The drum in the end has almost no texture and is virtually smooth
@@SKSProps no wonder that my foam looks a bit rough and some times at the end of narrow ends, it bites into and goes around... I'm using 120 grit bits on my rotary tool...
I love this!!! The creativity is very powerful!! But I cannot afford the material I need for the fake sword is there a way I can buy it off you? And you can make another one?
I almost ended up making this as a birthday present for my little sister because the movie was supposed to come out on her birthday, but it wasnt on disney plus yet and I didn't have the foam sadly
No I almost never seal my paint because it kills the difference in sheens from matte to metallic. I also don’t use cheap craft paints I prefer Liquitex heavy body acrylics and they have stood up really well no chipping or wearing off The only time I go is if I’m wanting a specific matte or gloss for the piece
wow, this is amazing! Question: what rigidity of Creature Cast do you use and where do you get it? I noticed in the parts list in the description you have a link to Plasti-dip. Do you recommend that over the creature cast? Thanks again, great work!
First off thanks! I use the semi rigid creature cast. The advantage to it over Plasti dip is its non toxic and can be applied with a brush. That helps when it’s to cold to spray Plasti dip here in the Midwest
Hey Sir! I live in Argentina an the thick foam is only found in big stores at a big price. And I can’t buy in dollars. Would some sheets of thin foam glued together do the trick?
Thanks! It’s 12 but a very old and dull blade I recently purchased a foam blade from mc mastercarr for my other bandsaw but haven’t had a chance to put it on yet
@@SKSProps cool cool. I just got a bench top bandsaw and got a variety pack of blades. I assume the more teeth the less tear out but we will experiment. On a different note, I am about to post the “baby yoda pram” from your tutorial. It’s been built for awhile but I never finished the paint chipping... better late than never haha.
@@SKSProps Any AutoCAD software, Blender o ZBrush...? I see thousand tutorial of making props with own patterns, but nothing about how to make patterns...
