How to make silicone molds for casting concrete

MRrwmac i used about $10 worth and it was a small mold but i can use that mold over and over.

+HomeMadeModern hello! can i ask you approximately how many times can you use it until it started to not produce such as clenan and detailed objects..i use one silicone that lasts about 20, max 25 concrete castings.. have you find this one to be specifically more enduring to concrete casting ware? thank you!!

Hi katerina, I want to start doing these kind of castings and I've read that you can do 10 castings before losing quality, 20 to 30 if you clean your mold and protect it with some oil coating, but I've seen that ABS molds are the best for concrete they last hundreds of times. I'm gonna start testing all the options and give you feedback once I have some vaulable data

Since the teddy is something soft with all the hairs I think the mold making process could destroy it. I would recommend wrapping it in plastic wrap & packing tape to get the general shape, then make a mold out of it, then cast it in plaster first. Once you have the plaster form, you can carve out the original details. Then, make a mold of the plaster piece to create your more detailed concrete form.

I'm pretty sure you can, just make sure you spray some mold release in the mold so the new cast object doesn't stick to the mold when it's cured
