Slump mold pottery is an easy way to make great pots, bowls, dishes or platters. You can use a slump mold to hand-build many kinds of pottery. This is a step by step video in which I make a slump mold dish out of raku clay.
Hi, thanks for to making this video. What kind of clay shall i use to make slumpy bottle mold's for multiple uses? What criteria must the clay meet? If you don't mined, share that information, please.
@@salomekisishvili3881 Hi there. I don't do bottle slumping but my understanding is that you reach a temperature of about 1450F. If that's the case, then you could use any kind of pottery clay. Either earthenware or stoneware. Just as long as it's pottery clay and suitable for a kiln. But you might want to check that out with someone who does bottle slumping!
I love the idea of how to make this but Have you fired this yet? I feel like the foot is way too small and if that bowl is even half full it will tip over very easily.
Hi Michele, I'm glad you love the idea of this. Yes, I did fire it. I raku fired it, so it's decorative ware and the foot is steady enough. You can have a look at the fired bowl on this article thepotterywheel.com/how-to-raku-fire/
