Pancakes are loved by most people, easy to make and light and definately worth trying. Not good for everyday but once in a while I do treat myself with this lovely pancakes. Enjoy and thanks for watching.
Dear Jane, thank you for taking time out to kindly share your recipe with us. I had run out of bread and had no intention of going out to the grocery store to replenish. After checking out your video I realised I had all the ingredients your recipe recommended at home so I got creative and loved the alternative. I added a little pinch of nutmeg and cinnamon for extra flavour to the pancake/crepe mixture and added a rash of bacon to the filling. It was easy and quick to prepare. I loved it. Thank you so much once again.
I am happy to hear o my recipe coming in handy, thank or sharing your idea too of adding nutmeg which I love, not so much cinnamon, but I know it goes very well with some bacon too, I do put some Nutella and banana on mine. Thank you for your comment I love it.
Wow I searched making soft crepes and this it for me. Soft sweet, easy to prepare. This recipe works. Now I can volunteer to make crepes/pancakes when entertaining guest. Asante sana for sharing your knowledge
Hi @Ann nelson, how are you, thank you for giving my recipe a try and am glad it turned out well, thanks for letting me know as well, means a lot to me.
Jane you can use melted butter .. melt it slowly on a very low heat until clear .pour it out slowly leaving any leaving impureties behind . Then put it in the fridge to harden .. let me know if it works. Best wishes to you and your family.
No I have never, I don't make pancakes that much anymore, I make some healthy ones with oats and banana's, with no flour and they are pretty good. Have you made them with banana before
Hi Sinte, does baking flour have raising agent in it, it might make them more fluffy, not sure, I hope they turned out lovely. Thank you for letting me know.
@@DinewithJane I think the pancake mix was too thick. When I was trying them on one side then flipped them to the other side, the pancake started to curve upwards. Not sure what I did wrong
I will try this, looks yummy!! In France we had a recipe who looks like this. Its called "crêpes". Its the same with more milk or Beer (so good). Great video 😍😍
4 years married and I have never made pancakes for him. We don't like the super fluffy ones but I'm used to my mom's recipe which looks like yours. My mom makes some chances and adds some funky stuff like berries, bananas, cinnamon, orange or lemon zest, sour cream (this makes them so tasty). Sometimes she used whole grain flour.... When she adds bananas they taste so good! I have a couple of questions: - Can oatmeal be added? And in which phase? - Is it possible to change the sugar with Splenda?
Hi @Mitzy Sandi Vallejo,if you are to add oat meal probably would be nice to blitz it first so it's not too coarse, or just omit the normal flour for oats flour, which works well too, and you I don't know what is splenda , but am thinking maybe it's sugar substitute, you can I can't see why not,and for the whole grain flour, how does that work or do you mean wholemeal flour cause I do use wholemeal nowadays when am making my pancakes. I love my pancakes with banana, lemon or Nutella. very nice
@@DinewithJane you're so kind to reply my comment! Splenda is a no calories sugar substitute (made of dextrose, maltodextrine and sucralose, comes in a powder). Also I was thinking in using sodium saccharin (which comes in drops) as an substitute for sugar. What's your advice on it? Is sugar a must due the cooking process?
@@Mtz2604 I don't think sugar is a must, you can use banana's or if you have honey you can use that as well maybe after cooking the pancakes, or add it when mixing your ingredients
@@DinewithJane well well, I made them today! I used the sugar substitute, didn't affect the mix, I added lemon zest and cinnamon and just 3 eggs. I used a little bit more of milk, so the mixture got a little bit lighter and they ended up like crepes. We ate them with cream cheese and they are lovely! Thanks for your recipe, without it I wouldn't dare to cook them and I was kinda embarrassed to ask my mum, I wanted to surprise her haha. Thanks again! I'll try with a the things I want now.
Thank you so much for this great recipe!!!!!! I wanted to try it in quarantine, hope everyone is staying safe. My sister and I like different types of pancakes, but this recipe satisfied both of us so thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EDit: What do you like to put on top of the sweet pancakes, other than banana? (My sister doesn't like banana)
Hi @Hazel diy like Nutella on it, Nutella with banana as well, lemons with sprinkled with a bit of sugar, am glad I could be of help to your sister loving the pancakes.
am 12 years old and I really love cooking but I have a question. Is it a must you add the recommended measurement of oil as you did coz my mom doesn't like seeing me using too much oil. LOL:)
Hi Popxie, thank you for your question, no you don't need to add as much oil when you are making your pancakes, if you have the spray oil that will be better cause little comes out of the bottle. you can use maybe a teaspoon of oil or so. Hope that helps. Do let me know how they turn out, all the best.
I was gifted some wheat flour and as a bachelor I was wondering what to do with it. Came to RU-vid and voila! Guess who will be making pancakes tomorrow. Thanks Jane.
I think the correct name for this Malawax (ma-la-wah) it's a traditional Somali dish eaten at any time of the day primarily breakfast (served with honey and tea) or at dinner ( served with meat or chicken stew) I'm not bashing or throwing "shade" at her but hope you acknowledge Somali traditional
Hi @Jomo FrontForce well I can't call it Kenyan pancakes but they are nice and light, and quick to make. I suppose you can add salt instead of sugar then they will be chapati not pancakes. Sometimes a little bit of sugar can't be that bad. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment.
