This is a video tutorial on diy how to make your own custom string light by using a post with concrete based foundation. The string light is connected to the post using hangman brackets.

Looks great. Get a light dimmer so you can control the brightness.

I'm not sure if the dimmer switch would work with this light but I might give it a try. I also have 3 string lights attached to one another on a timer.

Can I fill barrel up with landscaping rocks instead? Or concrete is a must?

you can as long as you can hold it down, i think is the main purpose

Is it vinyl siding? If yes, how did you attach the lights to the siding?

How stable is that post in that planter? Can it easily be tipped over?

Hey, what is the distance between the two post? And for that how much concrete did you do? I mean what size concrete form tube did you use?

The two posts are movable so place them according. One bag of concrete was used.

Where did you buy the concrete form from? I can’t find one with a bottom. They all have an opening on both sides.

They taped the bottom to create a bottom from the look of the video.
