Great project friend of mine, it looks cool and the quality is so lo-fi that you might actually use it for garage recordings and it'd sound just great for the use intended (no doubts about any true garage band taking my advice) Don't be fooled by the comments below, at least you could make it out of trash for next to nothing(recycled parts ~$), just like stated in the title, but in my case, I would change the housing for something a little bit tougher, some copper pipe might be proper and would work just fine in order to block some Interference if there was any. Greetings buddy, cheers, bye
This reminds me many years ago my friend and I recorded into a Tascam 424 cassette using those cheap old early 1980s headphones with the foam on them, like the Sony Walkman came with. Sounded interesting!
I'm 40. My 1st recording was with old headphones when I was 13/14 because I couldn't afford a real mic. And my vocals were actually clean because tape naturally de-esses. Analog. Now I have digital and condenser Mics. But I'm building a handmade condenser soon since as of Nov 2nd 2019 I've learned how to build Mic capsules. When I get a cutting machine, I will keep y'all posted.......
Just thinking that the world is a better place because this kid is in it. Cats fighting outside woke me at 4AM. Tripped over this video trying to find something to sleep to.
yes. As always. to find which is + on the speaker you must connect it to 3 volt battery and if speaker pops up that means the + is where you connected battery +
dear, congratulations how are you? good job, where can i find the components to built? included the ribbon? i´m a home enthusiastic, i have no experience and industrial engines, could i do? please clear me where can i find this ribbon tape or improvise a one, thanks!
lol a lot of ppl complaining about the video... guys the goal here is to get the device, in this case the mic... the video quality is good enough for you to see how the device is done... if you want him to create a fancy video about the same topic, you better pay him... or stop complaining... he is giving you the info for free!!.... jerks....
In this build you only need headphone's speakers. This microphone that I built is dynamic. And microphones that are included in the headphones are condenser microphones. If headphones have good sound then microphone made out of it will have a good sound.
+Audio Therapy (Big Bass) thanks!!! One more question: Did u use the headphone cable for the mic (what cable do i have to use?), and how did you connected it to your speakers or pc
You could record microphone sound in computer because hearing it from speakers in video, is hard to know true quality, but anyway, i think that quality is very good from what you callled trash
he make it from trash, it's DIY, nothing wrong with this video. my thumb for you, kid. maybe it will be my project to see if your DIY mic is good or bad for recording on low spec laptop.
OMG ... I couldn't look away.... it was like the worst use of bandwidth yet..... just say it could be done-but don't bother doing it! that would have been MUCH shorter!
