How to make Stupidly Strong Space Marines in Hoi4 

Minor thing. I think it's funny that for years people have complained about how unrealistic the "Space marine" division is when... isn't that exactly what Churchill, Matilda, and Valentine were designed for... to have a few battalions (regiments, companies, whatever the term is) built into infantry divisions to give them some armor/firepower on the front line separate from dedicated armor/cavalry units? (See also the couple dozen or more Shermans tacked onto almost every US infantry division.)

Since its on Earth aka Holy Terra, would probably be better to call them Thunder Warriors, just for the RP.

New to hoi 4 and this has really helped with understanding templates. Alot of vids focus on just width and not strategies for how and when to use them.

I like this. Its a good meme. I am experimenting with creating divisions that use aa instead of artillery (with the exception of maybe a suport company) it seems interesting tbh. Loose out on soft attacks bit gain antiair and peircing. Its really neat but not going to be as well rounded as a 7-2 or something

You should compare this to light tank recon and maybe a flame tank.

There is the better way, you can create medium tank template and set anti air on it, then your space marines will destroy planes also

Actually, Riveted armor with four points and armored skirts would probably be cheaper, give a lot more breakthrough (very useful on a space marine as infantry doesn't have a lot of it), but still give around the same armor value. Adding one extra ammunition storage also wouldn't hurt

I did a Space Marine design for France, and managed to hold off Germany & Italy until late 1940 before capitulating. Because of the focus tree and the debuffs that France had, I was only able to put 5 mils on heavy. But here's a twist: it was an inter-war heavy. The Char B1, but with army xp, I modified it so that it is virtually impenetrable unless you have level 2 AT. It's got medium howitzer, fixed turret, and I buffed the armour to 61.9. But because I had to put 15 mils on fighter 1 to mitigate the CAS damage, I was only able to get 6 division out before the war. But with those 6 divisions (the basic infantry division+heavy tank+extra artillery) and an extra 6 light tank divisions (the tanks+motorised inf one, don't use the other one, the stats on the TANK only div was horrendous), I was able to hold Germany until 1940 when they overwhelmed me doing it the Soviet way: throwing so much body onto the field that I ran out of guns. In the end though, the kill ratio was 3:10 which was better than I thought. When Paris was under attack, I threw in 3 space marines and 2 light tanks and managed to hold onto the city for a few months before I got reinforce memed. I got to say, now I understand why MP forbid the Space Marines because it was OP as F.

I was going to say that if you do this, you might as well get a much better tank for 7-10 production, but then I saw that it only needs 1 Steel to make. Yes, this is indeed a cheap way to improve the basic infantry for a minor with oil. :)

Sometimes I also use sp artillery. I add a bit of armore in them and put them in the infantry with the other night tanks

So basically. "You're up against the wall, and I am the wall"

Question, what doctrine works best with this? Im unsure if you go down mobile warfare (id assume mobile infantry cuz the tank isnt the focus) or maybe superior firepower?

I like to make cost effective light tanks for my infantry. I can make the damn things give enough armor and soft attack for a small production cost.

Could you make a quick overview of microing front lines and how to make encirclements?

Retreat, merge units, break certain line, surrounded push them in, and head smaller units towards other countries.

You could just make a light tank build focused on armor and break through and slap that as a support unit, much cheaper than a line unit of medium tanks.

To take this one further could you not use heavies? Perhaps some light armor recon and light flame tanks if you have sufficient production?

Late game it’s fun to use super heavy tanks for that, or even sh spgs.

Would this be worth using to get the Soviet Union achievement for beating Germany after they beat the French?

Just throw on a high velocity cannon on your support armor recon and you won’t need the extra slot on support for AT. Bit more expensive but worth it in the long run

Quick question does this still work after the latest patches. I only play single player and my thoughts are making a division that is 9 inf, 2 art, 1 aa and 1 medium tank. Medium tank will be much improved over the brick though with an emphasis on soft attack. Support companies medium flamer, logistics, art support, maintenance maybe engineer or would armored recon be better?

Just a Question, Wouldnt it be viable to invest a little bit more for lets say a AA-Tank? Yes its more cost intensive. BUT you would get a tank battalion which could actually be some kind of use besides providing some Armor! AND the juicy thing about this is, per Battalion you would come more cheap, because you dont need 50 med tanks but you need only 36 AA-Tanks. Which makes up for the higher cost. So you could drop a AA-Support slot, and the produktion for it! The drawback is, evry blown up tank, drops the Armor for the whole battalion more!

Did you make a follow up/newer video now that the 1934 medium tank doesn’t exist? Do we just use 1936 light?

what dlc are u using in the video? i have only 3 dlc's for resistance, no step back and man the guns. What is the dlc that gives u the ability for exmple put artilery under infantry in divison designer, i cant do that, i need to put it in a new row. what dlc is that?

If i am playing a Major Power with more Industry will it be worth it to maybe upgrade the Turret or Armor?

I like to use a light tonk support, it might not be as efficient, but if u do a kind of gud light tank with max Armour, u can get 15-20 Armour and ull get soft attak, defense and breaktru

I just bought the game on sale with "starter set" DLC a week or two ago. Now that I'm watching all these videos learning to play it, I am more and more annoyed at how unrealistic and broken by exploits like this the game is. I feel like it promises all this detailed realism, but in the end it's just super filled with details that aren't relevant to the source material. At least I didn't blow more than 20 bucks.
