Here are some suggestions to the common questions I see, and this is not any disrespect to the maker of this video, these are just some clarifications: Two yards of each fabric will be enough. A yard and a half may pass. Keep in mind the checker order when doing the sleeves, and piece it together as you are constructing it. Using a square template with a ruler may help. For the cotton lining, I used a white mesh that is a little more breathable, because although cotton fabrics are breathable, they tend to get hot with the black color. Ironing the seams are SUPER important, as the checkered design will warp if the seams are sewn over rather than split and then sewn. Joann's and Hobby Lobby have some coupons and sales on cotton fabrics, so keep a sharp eye out. You're expecting to spend over 30-40$ on this. A sewing machine on high tension with Dual Duty black thread is also a must-have, as it allows you to be fast and accurate. If you'd like your Tanjirou Haori to be longer, simply add an other strip to make an extra long row. I'm almost done, just the lining needs to be installed, so I may have more tips. Okay so, Hi and thanks! I made tanjiro’s haori based on this video, but I made few changes so it would be more accurate. I will list the things what I changed so it might help someone else too. This is not to disrespect this video’s maker, I really couldn’t have done it without this video. I just want to help lil bit, if that’s okay. Here are the small changes: I took one line vertically off from the back part, because I wanted to keep the checkerboard pattern, but on the same time make it match more to the original. On the original the front sides match (like, if you connect the front parts there isn’t checkerboard pattern). I also added one line on every part horizontally so it would be little longer and fit me better + also it was like it on the original work. (I am referring to manga and anime with that original work). Otherwise the haori made in this video is really really great. One more thank you for making this video.

I actually made this only I knitted it square by square, it is used for cosplay but also as a comfy coat.

I ran out of green fabric to paint over so this was really helpful, so thank you. I’m making this for my brother who’s very tall so i think 12 cm might be too small, so may add a cm or 2 to make it baggier

Yeah, I wouldn't have the patience for this, I'd just make a checkered template, get some green fabric and paint the black squares in with fabric paint. Let it dry, wash it and be done. lol This is too much work for me. Great job though.

This is really amazing. I have a question. When you cut the squares 12cm by 12cm and after you sew them together, does this mean that’s the squares now become 10cm by 10cm because of the 1cm seam on all sides?
