you all prolly dont give a shit but does someone know a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot the login password. I would love any tips you can offer me
I am so happy to find artists who are putting out valuable insight, encouraging other people to hone their artistic passions. I have mad respect for you John just from seeing this one video! :) On a journey to rediscover my love for EDM and find new music that aligns with my soul and activates my own creative passion. Thank you for being a source of genuine inspiration and help
Yo John really loved these little mini tutorials and would love to see a more in depth view of how you use operator. I know you're a lot busier now but when you got the time I think we'd all appreciate some more content! Hope your foot is doing better bud, cheers!
@@JohnSummit I've got so much respect for your production and songwriting chops! Man do I wish I knew what 909 sample you are using for the kick. Your kicks are always so god damn punchy and phat lol
I use logic but this really helped me with my tech track. Thank you so much. You're a very pedagogical teacher and I like how you planned the video out. Easy to follow and to the point. I just subscribed and look forward to checking out your other tutorials.
i've been into electronic music my whole life and it was kind of crazy discovering your tutorial around the same time i got into playing trombone in a salsa band. there is so much energy in latin american music because of that percussion. it's amazing that you're able to merge that energy into house music. house and salsa music in the summer is peak chicago. maybe you'll remix some of those old fania records. would be sick.
LEGEND! Please launch an online course or masterclass! I am going to buy it! :) You are very straight and easy as a teacher! Love that John, thank you for uploading this
Thanks for the video! Tech house is all about groove. Do you program your own grooves by pushing back or forward the samples manually or do you use the ableton groove pool? I'm also curious if you quantize the percussion loops to the grid first and then apply groove to them.
Your videos are simple and straight to the point. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. How much time did you spend at the production process? Did you work multiple tracks in one day or you stay with one track till you finish it?
thanks!! i generally do one track altho a lot of ppl recommend multiple. i spend a while on each track prob a 3-7 days a track and don't release all of them
When you are coming up with a percussion motif do you think about the melody first then try find sounds that go with it, or do you just start with the first element and then keep adding to it??? Hope that makes sense, sick track btw!!
What this now 17 year old has achieved since he posted these tutorials is incredible. My respect. The quality and consistency in the heaters he drops is insane. He will always be welcome to the carne asada. Fr.
good question, i honestly do it by ear. u can use abletons tuner, but this is moreso following the groove rather than how melodic it is. some really tonal percs i try to make sure tho
how you get the bassline note on the first step not clash with the first kick, is what i need to know. actually, how to have a bassline note and a kick drum on the same step without them clashing. thanks.
everywhere! here this was splice, but the original vox was at 70 bpm so u can't even tell it's the same. i like to take samples and warp/mess with it to be my own
Great - but my eternal question is where are Latin House producers getting their original vocals besides overused sample packs? Also pronounce Clahvey not clave.
