I'm sorry but techcore is just not a real genre. The name doesn't even make sesnse, the "core" part is from "Hardcore Techno" and the "Tech" is obviously from "Techno" and "Hardcore Techno Techno" is just a thing. From what I'm hearing this supposed "Techcore" thing is just really sporadic J-core. If y'all are gonna be making up genres at least make sure the name makes sense please
Have you heard of the "TechCore Evangelix" series released by megarex? Techcore has already established itself as a genre of its own in Japan. Unlike Jcore, represented by artists such as camellia and t+pazolite, Techcore is characterized by a BPM never exceeding 180 and the use of complex and detailed melodies is rare.
Genres don’t have to make sense by how they’re named lol. Besides, it doesn’t really matter if it’s a “genre” or not because producers are constantly experimenting with them anyway. Also Artcore exists, you can argue whether that’s a real genre or not.
I agree to disagree with your statement, since BMS (a rhythm game community based on indie music) has an unhinged number of non-existent genres that somehow make sense from a nonsensical perspective. No one questions the genre of a BMS entry, because heck, the genre "Music for Early Childhood Education in East Asia" exists. Hardcore's become so hard to discern nowadays with the wonderful experimentation of mashing genres together. At the end of the day, defining what genre a song fits under is just to make it easier to find similar kinds of songs.
