@@alansandoval1705 “very good, honest, and reasonable, and not thinking you are special in any way: They were such good people. They really were the salt of the earth. He was the sort of person referred to as salt of the earth: very friendly and straightforward” Google has existed for over 20+ years and people still think they can just “well actually“
@@MitchellFace well to be fair English isn’t my main language and I thought it meant something negative since salt makes soil not fertile anymore. It’s just a problem with my logic tbh haha
I'll yawn too knowing that pissy hands are cooking my burger. Probably scratched some dogs nuts outside the restaurant and then went to the bathroom and pooped and didn't clean up... oh yeah, keep eating there folks... zzzz. 🥱
@@silversurfer647gloves are nonsense. People see gloves and they get a false sense of security like it’s a safety blanket. On average gloves are much dirtier and higher risk of cross contamination than somebody washing their hands regularly
I’ve been served by Marty many times since I live not too far from his diner. He’s nothing but genuine, kind, and will even feed you if you’re short a buck. Definitely a staple in our community. Glad to see him get his recognition for all the hard work he puts into feeding all of us Oklahomans and even those that are passing through. Thanks Marty!
and that greasetrap hasn't been cleaned for years, neither has the grill. Back when I worked in that business I would have gotten fired if I let things get that unsanitary.
@@sixringwarzone6106nah, I'm sure he washes his hands and dries them on that grubby towel thats touching everything be leans against. Its fiiiine...and I'm sure him being able to just hold it like that doesn't mean it hasnt been cooked to a safe temp and he's just impervious to heat
I went to one of these places for lunch once where they sold normal hamburgers, nothing out of the ordinary but I could really feel the love the old man who did my hamburger had for food, all veggies were perfect, the meat was perfect and it brought a small tear to my eye. I went up to the old man after and said it was the best hamburger I had in a long while and he looked so happy and thanked me. People who put effort into their food even if it's not the best place out there are unseen people with huge hearts.
He definitely hates his job but not too many people love their jobs. Ima lucky one running heavy equipment is all I ever wanted to do 😊. He still does it though. Its a lot more than most.
These are the kind of people that are MY heroes. The heart and soul of communities. Not the so-called ''elite'' or 1% wannabees that want to ''live like golden''. Keep grinding my friend. Much respect.
burgers are a quintessential american thing just like baseball and the wild west, if someone cares about our history they’ll learn our cultural foods the same way we try theirs and this guy is keeping the roots alive
Finally someone who gets it!! All workers are valuable to society and it doesn't matter if you are a surgeon or a street sweeper a man or woman who gets up each and every day and does their tasks with a smile on their face and an honest days work in my book they should be valued and respected. God bless you and anyone who reads this..
I love listening to anyone who takes this kind of pride in what they do. Doesn’t matter what it is. It’s always interesting to listen to someone passionate about something
You're so right !! The owners should take care of him when he can't do it anymore. Doesn't seem to be the type to willingly retire from his duties of making those perfect burgers. Rare breed right there !!
The amount of people that like the comment just shows how dumb society is he’s obviously holding it with the bottom bun you can literally see it pay attention people.
This guy is a PRO! It’s refreshing to see someone who still takes price is doing jobs like this . People who do such good work are highly under appreciated
Words cannot express how much respect I have for people who put in this much time and work into one seemingly simple thing. He’s spent years perfecting the onion burger to a science and that right there is special.
A lot of amazing people working in food service and restaurants. I always loved the idea that they are simply making something that is to be enjoyed. It’s a pure pursuit.
@@squidwardshouse67 that grill has the best flavor I’ve eaten here my whole life they take excellent care of everything there and I promise those burgers and coneys will not disappoint! Gotta come try it!
This is such wonderful video to see exactly how our country used to be Im from the PNW 64yrs old and I still remember how we all used to be helpful to our neighbors and strangers alike , always proud to do a hard day’s work no matter what you did .. we waved at each other and strangers to help make someone else’s day better smile and say hi.. so this man is a genuinely great person.. we all can do the same…😊
God bless you Marty! You remind me of my late brother-in-law Kenny Becraft… He worked two and three jobs all of his life; he was a real hard-working man!
When someone takes that much consideration to detail and pride in making a hamburger Im sure everything on that menu is delicious and I’d forsure be there daily lol !
He looks amazing for his age, he seems like he doesn't worry or stress about the small stuff, and loves the humble, simple life he has. Honest hardworking man.
This guy is awesome. Notwithstanding his complete lack of food safety when he grabs the raw meat, then palms each half of the bun with his raw meat hands, he is a genuine and wholesome guy 😁
@@Icemanfan28 That's an interesting observation. I'm still skeptical, but my initial assumption has definitely been modified by your comment. I appreciate your input. Nice work 👍
You know this man is an OG he held that patty straight off the grill his hands have no heat sense anymore 🎉 😋 guaranteed that is the best burger you ever had
This is Sid’s diner in OK. I moved from Boston to Vegas and drove thru specifically to stop here after seeing the burger scholar episode. This was the best burger I’ve ever had, and talk about worth it. We got 3 burgers, onions rings, fries, and 2 shakes for like $30-$35 and we left FULL
