Number 1... LOVE the down to earth explanations. No nonsense smart approach. Clear instructions.. to the point that make perfect sense! THIS IS WHAT ANY TOP NOTCH COOKING SHOW SHOULD BE.. I LIVE FOR IT!
Can you do a quick, easy dinner option for the weekdays?!? Single mom here and I would LOVE to see more ideas that has flavor but isn’t just a basic taco night. Love your videos! Love you and Jaclyn! 🤞🏻☺️☺️
I've watched all of your videos and I must say this was my favorite! Love that you are breaking down the basics. This was a very straightforward, informative video and I look forward to seeing more from this series!
I am so glad you put this video together! But I have a couple of questions. As you know too much salt or anything can ruin what you are making. So how much salt and pepper did you put in those compound butter recipes? At least a rough estimate. LOL and how much of other ingredients would you guess was in butter??? I am the worst about adding too much of something, so I don't wanna mess this up. LOL I didn't even know about the oil that takes more heat. I am a down home southern cook. Just put the grease in the pan and lets fry some pork chops kinda lady!! LOL This kind of cooking I can do all day! But I want to try the recipes you have cuz they sound and look amazing!!!! And last question, tell me about this chunky salt??? What kind of salt is that? Again I use regular salt and pepper you buy in the can that has been around forever!!! I don't even know what that chunky pink looking salt is!!!! Can you tell me about that? What is it used for? Is chunky salt stronger than normal everyday salt you buy? Same with the pink salt, is it the same flavor or as stronger as other? Maybe a video including these details? Maybe others have the same questions. IDK. I have been cooking southern food all my life and I am in my 50's. So I didn't just start cooking. But I know nothing about these questions I have ask. Can you help me out? I love all of your video's. I don't usually comment but I hit like and watch for sure......Keep up the awesome video's. Happy New Year!!!!
THANK YOU for this video! My family loves steak, but I can never get it just right, so it feels like a waste of money. Definitely giving it another shot now! 🥳👏🏻
This was definitely very dope and very freaking helpful. Not gonna lie my man hates when i say I’m cooking steak cause i just don’t have that magic touch but this definitely made it seem so easy like Jaclyn said on her IG stories. I am definitely going to try this. Can we get the link to the Bluetooth thermometer? I’d love to give it as gift to my husband for Father’s Day.
@@FarnumGrindtime when your imaginary boyfriend actually responds to you on RU-vid!!! Score!! Haha Love you and Jaclyn both! CONGRATULATIONS ON THE ENGAGEMENT....
My husband doesn’t trust me with cooking steak and now I’ll have to surprise him with the perfect steak!! Love your videos always so simple and helpful!
Same! Well, maybe not ;/ mine cooks them perfectly so I was always like why would I try and go mess it up?? but now after this detailed, easy explanation.... i'm thinking I might have to surprise mine as well!!!!!
I'm a bit of a steak queen. I've been perfecting my steak for 11 years. I watched this expecting to critique you, but you nailed it! No critique here! I prefer to use cast iron, but that's really the only difference. Well done! I'm hungry! ...oh, I also make compound butter, or sometimes if I'm feeling really fancy, a smoked gouda crust👌 of you haven't you've gotta try it!
Omg! I've always been so intimidated by cooking steaks. It helps so much when you explain and break down the reasoning behind everything. Please do more instructional videos for beginners! I will do a test run this weekend for Valentine's Day
damn I learned so much in this video, thank you! I'm super ADHD so sorry if you said this in the video lmao but if you don't have a thermometer, about how long would you say to keep a sirloin in the oven for medium well?
I only eat red meat - literally. You can imagine the number of how-to videos I've watched on cooking steaks. This might be the best. You have given me the courage to try out cast iron and the oven again. For now I can only nail it on the propane grill. Thank you for your time, effort and expertise.
This is my new favorite recipe channel. Lots of flavor without being pretentious or over the top for the average person. Your recipes are next level without being intimidating. Keep up the good work. This steak tutorial is so helpful!
I couldn’t agree more with everything you said & did here! And you’re such an awesome teacher, have you ever thought about teaching culinary classes 👨🍳?
I have to do the reverse sear cause I can't cook a steak to save my life without doing that method. You have to use the butter! It takes a steak up 3 levels.
When you say high heat, is the setting literally on high or like 9? I've been so afraid to cook things on high on my cast iron pan. Great breakdown, needed this. Excited to try!
@@FarnumGrindtime I got the Bluetooth thermometer and followed this exactly (made the compound butter too) and just made the best steak I’ve ever had! Thank you so much!!
Can you make bbq chicken with something? I’m thinking like in a wrap, with nachos…..anything/something! My kids love BBQ chicken but I’m running out of ideas and your recipes are always 🔥 PLZ HELP 😁
Looks amazing! I’m from Tampa as well! Publix has some pretty great steaks. I do occasionally go to a butcher tho. Do you have a preference? Edit: OMG I forgot to say CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement! Ahh!! 😊
How dare you assume i cook my steak wrong 😄 I challenge you to a GRILL OFF.. yeah..not in a pan...then in an oven...I challenge you to a perfect medium rare to medium 32oz cowboy ribeye (yes..with as much fat is on this steak..its best just between mid rare and medium..)...ON Charcoal & Mesquite
I am back an hour later with my follow up… this method is the ONLY way to cook a steak from here on out. We had a 1” thick sirloin. Seared it and left it in the oven for about 15 mins to get it to 155°. Best fucking steak I’ve ever ate… at home or in a restaurant. THE BEST!!!
Hey I’m actually making this as we speak, unfortunately without the digital thermometer. How long does it take for the steak instead the oven to go from 100 to 140 if it’s an inch thick ? I keep opening the oven (i know, exactly what he said shoukld be avoided) and its taking forever lol
My mouth is watering so bad. I had stupid pizza hit while I was watching this lol. I was excited for pizza too lmao. It's not the same as a perfectly cooked steak. I always just guess, and after years of cooking I do okay but sometimes I overcook my steak. I need to get a thermometer and up my game for perfect steak everytime. Nothing is more disappointing than buying and preparing for an amaizing steak dinner to then overcook that steak lol.
Clicked this so fast! Super excited for this video! Thanks for all the bomb videos, keep em coming! Congrats to both you an Jaclyn on your engagement! You guys are the perfect couple! 💙🍽#MoreSeasoning
This might be a dumb question but I genuinely don’t know. If I’m using just regular butter do I also add it at the end like he did with the compound butter?
This 101 series is great!! I know steak seems easy to cook but getting it the right temp can be tricky. This video is perfect. Love that you used a thick filet and a thinner sirloin. You covered all the basics and then some. Sizzzlin’ yummmmmm
Finally! Yes! Everyone else shows them cooked so well done… yuck 🤮 you made it exactly like I love it 🥰 Next shopping trip I’m picking up all the fixings! Thank You 🙏 Perfect video, absolute perfection!
I come from a family of butchers & let me tell you that a ribeye cut is by far the more superior cut ! Gotta get that marbling of that fat and it’s amazing !
I agree with everything except if it's not filet it's absolutely gotta be a NY strip. & Tarragon compound Butter... Great.. now I'm droolin. Guess I'm stopping at the butcher for tomorrow's dinner lol
I myself like a ribeye and then a sirloin and then a strip. I think filet are over rated but I'll still eat a steak lol. I was eating a steak while watching this lol
