I hope you manage to deal with that. Its fucking tough to lose something you took for granted for all your life. Went through something kinda similar but different. It stays with you but sooner or later you will find the energy to accept it and push on.

i really hope it gets better its not the same but for 3 yrs i had alopecia i was only 12 when it first happened and it was a bad but i also realized the value of accepting what i couldnt change and as i came to accept it , it got better.Eventhough what you are going through is alot more serious i really hope you can get through it and persevere.

@azuregriffin1116

jesus cabrera. If you understand musical theory then just be the next Beethoven. Even if you become tone deaf, the only limit that puts on you is the one you let it. Maybe you'll have to get a second person's opinion before you make your music public, maybe you won't be able to play properly without slipping out of beat, but you can work around that if you, say, got something which shook against you hand that was set to the same tempo everone else was using. You can do it and let nobody, not even yourself, tell you otherwise. Sorry if that sounded cheesy, but I mean every word.

A cool challenge might be to loop nothing. Change 1 thing/everything as the song goes, but at the end you have something that doesnt fit with the first thing, but each section fits with the previous section.

You're my inspiration to keep pursuing my dream of being a musician. I almost gave up singing 3 years ago when my parents told me that I didn't have what it takes, and that it would be a waste of my life to pursue something as stupid as music. Then, in that darkness, I found your videos. They made me see that, even if I don't get rich, even if I don't become a famous musician, even if the only person who hears my music is me, it will all be worth it to create something I'm proud to call mine. Stay awesome Andrew, and keep inspiring!

Well, look at it this way. In their free time, most people spend a significant portion of their lives consuming art (music, TV, movies, etc). What you do is create art. If I have 4 hours of free time in a given night, I could watch a few episodes of whatever, and get some enjoyment. If I used 3 of those hours to create music and 1 hour to watch one episode of whatever, I would get some enjoyment and feel proud that I did some creation rather than purely consumption.

Getting stuck with loops is something that always stops me from progressing with songs and I have just watched 3 videos from you, some of them more recent than this one, and I am actually excited to try out some of the things that you suggested on the videos I just watched. Your channel is great, your videos are fun to watch and always dynamic, interesting and rich in content. You are very talented and I also love your music and the sounds and beats you come up with. I've obviously become a bit of a fan, so thanks man. You are awesome.

The kinda sad, kinda hilarious part about that is that rich sickos would surely buy a lambo nuke just because it has that damn bull shield on it. Splitting up the videos to make more content sounds perfect, honestly. That way I can share the goofy-yet-amazing end-product and my friends who might get interested in the production can watch it afterwards, we get to spend more time with the process, and you can have more audience interaction with the track since you'll have more time. It only sounds positive to me.

Sometimes I just change the way the chord is being played. For example, say I've simply got a chord playing on beat 1 each measure, maybe I could play it as an arpeggio, or start with the lowest note and fill out the chord the rest of the notes, etc. It's nice and simple while still being a recognizable difference.

I don't mean to start a fight, but (oh boy) I have not learned how to make a track instead of a loop... Sure I now know how to make a cool snare buildup and I can replace parts of a melody with a more bland sound, but what if I dont want to do either of these because they dont go well with the project I'm struggling with?

Another really useful device for B sections is changing the harmonic rhythm, especially if you have a flexible melody that works in different contexts. Just shortening or expanding the underlying harmony, it can be really fun and surprising to hear how a melody changes without really changing at all!
@antonhillvall3257
@antonhillvall3257 6 лет назад
One thing I see myself doing alot is that if I have a bridge vocal part or melody building up towards the climax, or the drop if you will, I'll add the bridge lead melody and maybe also the chord progression as a B-part to the drop. So if I've got a bridge with vocals and a piano followed by a drop with vocals some heavy drums, a bass and a pad I'll follow that up by replaying the bridge but with all the instruments of the drop. I'm really new to producing music and I'm sure many others do this too. Love your videos and your music! Cheers

Something I thought coming back to this: sometimes it's also okay to make more repetitive loopier songs. Some of my favourite hip hop beats have the same loop running through the thing while adding some elements later and dropping some out. Then there are of course more minimal styles of techno. If you're going to loop for a long time though, make sure your loop is absolutely amazing so people don't get bored of it.

One subtle, vastly underused technique is side-chaining bass to drums. It gives the track a little pumping/swing while allowing the kick transients to really punch through. Also lets the 2 bus compressor to work less on huge peaks, allowing it to do what it should do--fill in the track and make it sound finished. As always Andrew, accurate insight, entertaining production and a positive vibe. Subbed.

That was fantastic! That tends to be an area I struggle in my production. Finding interesting samples and making them sound cool. That on top of getting stuck in sound design and I usually get stuck before something is finished

But seriously though, I have been stuck on a track that changes through multiple different sections for a long time. A video on how to arrange a track with more than a couple sections would be awesome!

If your snare is on 2 and 4, switch to a halftime feel (snare on 3), and if your snare starts on 3, try 2 and 4 for a new section Edit: obv you have to change he groove a bit, so mess with kick and hats too

The demo vocal actually sounds like you’re singing in Korean. Even though it’s total gibberish. It works. Also, love the zelda/Majora's Mask samples at 7:52, really first the "J&K" vibe you were taling about at the beginning of the video.

You should make a track out of car sounds. It could be the purr of a gorgeous super-car or something fun like buying an old piece of scrap and going at it with a sledgehammer. Either way, you would get some really awesome samples and have a great time.
