Orly: FABULOUS! But, if I can suggest (and this is only because I've had this issue a couple of times and finally fixed it for myself) - buy another 1-1.5 yards of the same fabric you are using to make the robe with and make a little sleeveless 'nighty' (ok, I'm showing my age here; I don't know what the 'kewl kids' are calling night dresses these days) that matches. So, why bother? Sooner than later, we are going to start traveling again and be invited to other people's homes or even (gasp) want to create the ultimate romantic evening on the cheap. You've made the robe; you've now got a matching nighty - no more wandering down the hallway to the bathroom in the morning in a stained teeshirt and gym shorts. You can go down to breakfast/brunch looking like Jean Harlow! And trust me - there is nothing worse than getting that phone call invitation for a weekend and start running arond trying to find a matching set.
I think, a more fancy nightdress would be called a 'negligée' maybe? I agree though, a matching set is a good investment, weather you buy or sew it. Very classy (or seductive), depending on the material.
@@OrlyShaniShow ok Orly, now you have an idea for the next week project. Could you please try to do it in the bias cut? I feel like every time you explain something I got it. Thanks.
Everything you touch just turns to gold!I swear everything you do is always amazing, beautiful, gorgeous,- just like you! And you make it look so easy and effortless- I have done several of your diys and I just ordered the clear material off Amazon last night for that belt you made a while back!!
3 minutes in to the video...I love the color block sweater you're wearing!!! I just bought an oversize black t shirt. Now I know how I"m going to diy it, woohoooo!! Ok, on with the video...
It's amazing what you chose for ur Lil ones, it's gr8 for their mechanical skills, brain-teasing, educational, and definitely a gr8 idea to connect n use the time with such projects. Big golden star for all 3 of u. I'd also like to suggest that you'd maybe consider making this an individual video n the robes n such a separate video, that will be highly appreciated n also will give other parents t choose n click on the video more to watch or recommend their kids to watch such a video., at the end of the day the title says DIY robes n patterns, makes sense... Enjoy a wonderful day n much love for the Lil ones. Shine
Love, love, LOVE this idea!!! OMG, I've been looking for a robe like this - something with a bold fun print that I can wear outside on the patio and now I can know I can make one! Orly, you rock, thank you! Your channel is fabulous.
Wow! The first one is the method I used to create a robe for Halloween a couple of years ago. It was for my witch costume using some leftover black & silver fabric that I had. It previously lived as a back drop for my older brother's 25th Wedding Anniversary a couple of years ago. He stood in front of it to renew his vows with his wife. 💖 So I had yards & yards lying around. Thanks to table centerpieces etc. I created a cool costume with it. Best part was my elderly Mom helping me. I have a couple now in different colors. Witch & Devil. So if you are reading this comment. Try it for Halloween too easy peasy. Thank you Orly! You are the best! 💕
Just found your channel, love it! So glad I'm not the only mom going slightly bonkers entertaining kiddies. Can't wait to start making this robe. Never thought of wearing them the way you do. Awesomeness! Love this simple robe, so easy but classy the way you dress it up and wear it! Think I'll make a few. Also very flattering for bigger set ladies
Omg thank U so much IV been wanting to make my own robe with this we Hardie fabric and was alittle unsure and to be honest scared of how to do it ... Didn't want to waist my fabric if I got it wrong ... Bow thanks to U I have a game plan I think I can do 😃😃😃
Hi Orly Shani, we can definetly name you Orly Shiny since you have brillants ideas and you are a great person. They come easy in you head and you include a lot of person in you viewers because you always suggest differents ways to do with différents techniques that make people feel like to do the DIYs since they are easy to make. Besides you are funny and have a good energy which gives motivation. Thank you for who you are and what you do. Kisses 😘🥰🤗❤😇🙏
I didn't scroll all the way through the comments, so this may have been said, but . . . you can make your own bias tape! Cut strips on the bias, I usually do 1 1/2-2 inches, sew them together, then press I half, then each edge into the middle. I do it a lot so I have bias tape that matches my fabric exactly.
Love this! I made the slippers for my sister and Aunt for Christmas. My sister asked me to make her PJs! Now, I can do an entire set! Can't thank you enough for the inspiration and tutelage!! 💜👩🏽🎨
Orly!!! I love kimonos, because of my modest attire. It allows me to be able to wear Jean's in this cold season and still look put together! Your kids are cute. I have nephews and nieces that will love the kiwis packages, so I will be sending these to those little ones in my life.
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wowwwwwwwwww I absolutely love this robe and the different styles all in one. i loved your video you are so creative and such a joy to watch. i cannot wait to try making one and i cant wait to watch the rest of your videos. thank you so much for sharing. SUBSCRIBED
LOL! Next Christmas, I will be like Oprah, you get a robe, you get a robe, and you get a robe. This tutorial was so freaking neat and did not leave much scrape material. This is definitely going into my to do file. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the New Year.
Very nice! I like, that you incorporated a french seam, here. Because although it's considered an 'advanced' technique, it's actually very easy to do...and such a nice way, to get a clean finish without a serger. Which most beginners don't have access to, of course. And bonus points for careful pressing as well. You're becoming a really proficient seamstress!
this comment makes me so happy!! thank you. Ive learned so much over the last few years and all the things that used to stress me out, seem so much easier now
Re: the black robe. Granted that it has a large repeat, but it is an obvious one, I would have thought that you would take the time to match the pattern at the easy straight side seams. You could use any 'waste' portion for the belt and pockets. I do love the french seams. They make the inside look as finished as the outside, which is important if you wear it unbelted and open. Great ideas, as always!
Hey Orly! - LOVE your videos! Just discovered you last night, or rather very early this morning since I couldn't sleep :( ....but Yea! I found you! I watched a bunch of videos, but wondered do you do any diys for kids? I have 2 adorable grandchildren - Charlotte who is 2, & Emerson, almost 1. Id love to do some cool hacks for them. Im working on denim jacket & pants now. but would love some more ideas! Thnx for all the ideas!
I love this video! I heard the fabric choices for versatility. My question is can I still do this with a sweater knit to make a duster cardigan? I will not switch up how I wear it. This pattern free thing is right up my alley... 😂
I love your videos! I love when you show us different looks in your room and then you model outside... those are fun and you are AMAZING! I always recommend your channel to all !
Love love love the rope and the patchwork jumper cardi ya waring 😊 thanks for sharin gave me so much inspiration i love to crochet fashion this has help in the construction templates for a Robes 🧶🧶❤
What wonderful creations again. I enjoy every week your spontaneous way of presenting. So positive! I think you are a fun person! Greetings from the Netherlands.
Hi Orly! I've been asking for some time now for a man's DIY and though there hasn't been one yet, this is the closest to a unisex project depending on the fabric used. I still hope you make an actual men's DIY maybe for father's day but you're always awesome.
Oliver, I so appreciate that you watch these videos even thought they aren't men's. My concern is that I'm self taught, so I really learn on my own body. I'm not sure the factors to consider with men's fashion.
@@OrlyShaniShow Thanks for always replying. I will always watch your videos! Like I've said before, you and your work serve as constant inspiration. Men's wear is more tailored so agree with you 100%.
Just what I m looking for! I’ve some Indian fabric that I’ve wanted to use in a robe. I brought a pattern but your method looks so much easier 🎉. Just found you new Subbie 😊
I absolutely ❤️ this idea & even if I couldn’t sew this (even though you give great skills teaching it) I could find one & add the boa feathers to it~ thanks for always sharing your talents! ☺️
I love how they turned out. Especially the one with the fur at the end but the one you had on is also beautiful, those colors are vibrant and cool. Did you make that too? Blessed weekend to you and your family Orly.💕💕💕💕🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
