Thank you Aurelius! Just subbed to you yesterday, and just in time it looks like! Haha. I'm thinking of tutorial style videos on my channel (currently nothing on my channel, haha!). I'd really like to start with very little expenditures, then add a little at a time. I have a laptop (HP Envy), an Iphone, and a Snowball mike. Was wondering if you might consider making a "budget alternative" video, for people just getting started? Love that you included your video template script. Very smart:) Also, Notion looks awesome! Thank you for this video!!
@AureliusTjin

That's a great topic for a future video! You definitely have all the equipment you need to start recording videos. Screen tutorial style videos are great. I find it a lot easier than a full talking head video because the focus is on what's on the screen, not me 😄 A video structure template will surely keep you on track and not waffle along. Notion's been invaluable! Thanks for watching.

Hi, I have a question, I record the tutorial but I feel it's not easy to do it the tutorial and record your voice and take the video for my face at the same time, how you do your tutorial? do you record the screen first then you make voice over for the video?

Do you ever record on screenflow and then do some editing like the bubble and then after exporting you import it to premiere pro to make some more changes? Like color, more transitions, graphics, intro etc.

Thanks for the great video, I just have a few questions: 1. what monitor arm do you use for the 34 ultawide monitor? 2. How do you use that monitor arm to connect it to the camera arm mount? Thank you :)))
@AureliusTjin
@AureliusTjin 3 года назад
I just bought the VIVO mount stand that supposedly supports up to 27" monitors (www.amazon.com/dp/B00B21TLQU/ref=pe_2361882_283709292_TE_SCE_dp_1). However, I found it was a little tricky to keep still. It was just a matter of screwing the bolts tightly. For the camera, I then bought the arm itself like this one www.amazon.com/dp/B083F3RPRK?ref_=pe_2361882_297267902_302_E_DDE_dt_1.

Nice. What is the arm that goes from monitor stand to monopod? Thanks.
@AureliusTjin
@AureliusTjin 3 года назад
That would be this amzn.to/33RciC6 (affiliate link). You simply remove the attached bracket and use a 3/8 or 1/4 screw to attach the monopod.

I saw your notion software in this video and thought about the way you did things. If it is not too much to ask could I get a copy if it is not against your policy? I would appreciate it as a newbie trying to get started in this business. Thank you..
@AureliusTjin
@AureliusTjin 3 года назад
Hi Frederick. As much as I'd like to help, unfortunately I cannot supply a copy as I would need to remove some of the data that may be personal. However, Notion makes it easy to create a KANBAN board like what I use. Simple click on Templates when creating a new note, select under Sales > Sales CRM. Like this: www.screencast.com/t/jUMot2fqN You can then edit and rename the columns as you wish.

Thanks so much Aurelius, I just wanted your LOOM video but am not keen on that. I have been using Screenflow 7 for MacBook Pro for last 12-18 months but my entire screenflow just crashed. I lost a weeks worth of work and can't have this happen again. The file was 10.5GB and was a 27 min audio with about 15 video imports (me showing screens) as well as photos added with transitions etc. I gave the files to a Screenflow editing gig guy on Fiverr and he is going to try to recover them (& he said it happened to him before too). He thought I should be OK if I buy and upgrade to Screenflow 9. What is the best one to use for Mac? (with no risk of it crashing). Thanks in advance John
@AureliusTjin
@AureliusTjin 3 года назад
Oh no! That's unfortunate. What ScreenFlow version are you using? The latest version is able to recover from a crash. It does get quite laggy and unresponsive once you record up to a certain length and with lots of additional effects, footage, etc. I'm currently using Version 9.0.5 and it is able to recover from a crash. Worth the upgrade to save you a heap of time.
@JohnStanley09
@JohnStanley09 3 года назад
@@AureliusTjin agreed, I took the hit and paid the price for having Screenflow 7. So I lost all my images & videos for 24 mins of a 26 min video. Soon after I commented, I bough the latest one 9:0.5 and I love it! Your whole video is next level and really helpful & something for me to aspire to. thanks so much
@AureliusTjin
@AureliusTjin 3 года назад
@@JohnStanley09 Nice one! ScreenFlow 9 has crashed on me several times already but I was able to get back to where I was 100% of the time. Thanks for your feedback. I wanted to document my entire process, so it may be quite advanced for some. There are many steps involved in the way I do it and it is completely unnecessary like using Premiere Pro to color grade. Beginners can simply use a webcam, a mic, a screen recording tool, and start recording their tutorials.

Why 2 microphones?
@AureliusTjin
@AureliusTjin 3 года назад
My new updated setup is I use a Rode NTG5 that connects to an external recorder (Zoom H5). I mainly use it for 100% talking head videos. For screen tutorials, I use a Rode Procaster. You could get away with just using one or the other. My usual recording setup now is that I record on both mics in case one fails.

I live in the city so that mic will pick everything up including this paranoid schizafrantic women who screamed and yells at people all day and nigh. She has a apartment upstairs and it feel like she right here. My other neighbor blast their music so loud. Anyway you look like you have a great setup though.

That's tough! Not sure if any amount of soundproofing will help. I used to work outside of my home in a library pre-Covid where they have a dedicated soundproof room. Now I have dedicated days where I record when my family is out. You make do and do what you've gotta do.

This was the first video in my search yet the audio in your tutorial is totally wrong. Do you have a problem with your audio recording? Way too much reverb in the room and hard too hear, even though you talk about how to make decent audio.....
@AureliusTjin
@AureliusTjin 3 года назад
The start of this video was bad, yes. That's because I had the mic further. It's not my usual shooting position. I wanted to show my setup behind me. Check my other videos and you'll see the usal quality. I use a Rode NTG5 for talking head videos and a Rode Procaster for video tutorials. My other videos are much better in terms of audio.
