There are several ways of drafting 2 pieces sleeves. I'll make more videos on that in the further. Practice all of them. Then you'll have better ideas.

Hi, if your body side seam is regular side seam, then the new underarm point at the under sleeve will match with it. If you have a side body that doesn't have a side seam, then you should have an underarm point at your side body.

Something is not right when the front cap curve is drawn. By formula, the lower point on the bicep line (armhole length/8 minus half inch) should be shorter than on the shoulder line (Armhole length/8 plus half inch)! Anybody noticed?

Hi, yes, it is. The length on the bicep is shorter than the length on the shoulder line for the front armhole curve.

Hi, you don’t have to calculate sleeve length. You measure the arm length then you just decide it. 🙂

Hello. Ive followed this but im getting lost at the first front armhole curve....when you say divide armhole length by 8 then add 1/2 inch, you get approx 2.8 inches, which i guess you go out from top centre shoulder point? Then you use the same formula (ah/8) except its now minus 1/2 inch and you get approx 1.8inches but where do you start this from, at the front edge biscep line and move inwards, yes? Ie. Go in 2.8 invhes from edge? So i did this. Next, when I form the curves, you say "check this point" and appear to show top curve centered and bottom curve centered. Mine are not centered at all and my measurements are almost identical to yours (9 and 9.25" front and back armhole lengths). I am lost at this point as i ...a) ...dont know where you started for your biscep point and b) ...i dont understand how you "checked this point". I wonder if you could clarify this? Even in the pattern book (winnifred aldrich) i have, i can follow everything except when it comes tovtye sleeve pattern. It starts at a point "1" but it never explained how to calculate where "1" actually is. Thank you I'd greatly appreciate your thoughts. 🙏

That's correct for the front curve.

Go in 2.8 invhes from edge? So i did this. I don't think it's correct. If the 2.8" is AH/8+0.5", then this should be measured from the shoulder point as you explain above.

Hi Jin, Can you draft a sleeve of a puffy jacket????? One more thing if there is no bicep line on my Spec/Techpack how can i determine bicep width (what is the formula) Thanks ❤

Hi, I don’t have an answer for that. Firstly, if you draft patterns from spec, there should be measurements for bicep, sleeve cap height, and sleeve length. If you draft patterns from technical sketches, then the bicep is depending on the design and your model measurements. And can you tell me what a puffy jacket is in detail?

@@PatternStudio101 The Puffy/puffers jackets are quilted and insulated with down feathers or synthetic alternatives. If there is no front neck drop on Techpack we can find it by the formula Chest/12 = front neck drop. Im asking for this kind of formula for bicep 🙂🙂🙂

@newazsharif6812 Oh, you meant down jackets. I'll make a chance to make a video later. If you make a bodice bl9ck with muslin fabric, your front neck drop can be Bust/12. But this is just a starting point for the block. When you make blouses, dresses, or jackets, neck drop can not be Bust/12. It will be too tight. But if you make a dress shirt, Bust/12 would be a good starting point. I don't use formulas except block making. So, for the bicep, either you start with bicep measurement or decide sleeve cap height. Then bicep will be determined by itself.

when you extend the line from the shoulder to bicep line , what measurements are those?

Hi, I don’t think I understand your question. From shoulder to bicep=sleeve cap height(vertical). I calculated AH/3. If you’re asking horizontal lines, it's just longer than the bicep measurement you want. If it’s not clear, please let me know.
