My family actually fry our wontons in addition to making the soup version. If you top the wonton soup with some fried wontons, it makes a wonderful texture contrast. My favorite way of eating wonton soup is with some chili oil, fried garlic, and lime on the side.
Bought two of your books and got my brother to bring them to South Africa for our family to enjoy. We love your work, your care and your authentic love for not just your food, but your people and us. Bless you Marion.
Wonton soup is definitely my all time favorite. The depth of the broth and silky wonton wins me over every time. I never knew what the flavor combination of the broth was. Thanks for clueing me in! 😋
Forget chicken noodle soup, this is my go-to when I'm feeling under the weather. I THINK it makes me feel better, so it works. Can't wait to make this for myself.
on the table within an hour for my aunt and uncle, so easy to make, and extremely satisfying but most of all delicious. thank you for teaching this kiwi some new cooking skills lol
I love all you recipies and love how you mix up the cultures... I have one request Hainan Chicken Rice, I know its more Malay, but I would love to see your take on it. Thanks Marion. and Noi
Marion, Chicago here. You are by far my favorite Asian food chef on RU-vid. Trying this recipe tomorrow! Please keep showing us these amazing Thai fusion recipes!
I made this today, the flavor is amazing, much deeper than you would get in a Chinese restaurant. Marion, you are right, the dried shrimp make a big difference so grateful to the Oriental market. I bought beef and vegetable wontons from the market, will simmer them in the broth. What a treat to know I have three more pints of soup in my freezer for my next fix! I positively love your recipes, I am addicted to your braised, red pork ribs, I dream about them!
I just love you and your style of narrating your recepes. Very gentle. And not to mention love all your recepes. Have tried and all were a success. Thanks for sharing and God Bless 🙏
Growing up my mom handmade wontons with minced pork, shrimp & added fresh chinese water chestnut (chopped into mini pieces) along with flavors so yummy. It was her own very unique way in the recipe. When I ate the wontons, I can hear the crunchy sound from the water chestnut & the flavor is amazing! I miss my mom's cooking so much. 😔 Love Marion's Kitchen channel!🤗
I'm addicted to watching you now. You make all these dishes look easy and delicious! I love Asian food but going out to eat its salty and this way I can monitor myself. Thanks Marion, from a new fan.
All of your recipes are so beautiful, simple and looks so delicious too! I know I’ve seen others comment this, but you really give off such an amazing vibe through your videos and teaching us on how to replicate your recipes. Watching your videos is so relaxing and also inspires me to replicate your recipes with my sister when we get the chance to hangout because we love the food you make!
Hello from Miami. I went to an Asian grocery store yesterday to get all the ingredients and made this recipe. As you said in the video, there is no place to hide so I carefully followed the step by step directions. It turned out to be sooo good! I linked up to your website for the full recipe and realized the salt is missing from the list of ingredients.
You inspired me to cook this long lost dish tonight, love the taste of the soup, fillings of the Wantons even my daughter approves of it. Thanks Marion.
Amazingly delicious and so easy to put together! I'm enjoying learning all of these things about making a good soup ♡ I genuinely was losing my love and passion for cooking because so many other things were getting in the way. After watching your videos I have a renewed excitement for making food for myself and others again ♡ Thank you!
Fantastic techniques video. Whenever I go to the Asian market to buy the ingredients for dumplings and wontons I wind up buying the bags of frozen dumplings and wontons because they are so reasonably priced and taste great.
This was absolutely delicious thank you so much! It’s really hard when you have food allergies and can’t eat from Chinese restaurants, I’ve been craving wonton soup for weeks. This was amazing very easy directions
I love to watch your videos very much, your teaching is very well v can understand. Thanks for sharing.God bless you dear.Feel like coming & eating all those.
Just made these for dinner and wow can I say I might eat this once a week!! Delicious yet simple! You never disappoint thanks for sharing and inspiring!
NoW THAT is amazing... I have guests tonight who have asked for wonton soup and i woke up thinking to myself "i need to find a good recipe".... and then you deliver.... Love you Marion!!! 💕💕
I love ur video's and would love to make it. For someone who cannot eat pork and shrimp, can i substitute it with minced chicken, ground chicken or beef?
I prepared the wantons last night and took them out of the freezer and made the broth at lunch today. My wife was on a work call when I walked into her study to give her a bowl of this stuff! Oh yeah! I'm an absolute hero right now.
I made won tons today but I made then in the shape of pouches because they would break if i made them in triangles and then tried to make the two tips touch. But they were OUTSTANDING!! THANK YOU!!
Not only am I amazed at how every Marion’s Kitchen recipe I try is awesome, but I have to ask . . . How do you cook and keep your white shirts pristine?
Marion, thank you for posting this recipe. The thought of making wontons or other dumplings used to be a daunting one for me, but after watching your video, I said "I can make that", and that is what I did tonight. I sent a photo of them to my mum back home, and she gave it a 👍 One question though: I have quite a few wontons left over that I have frozen. You mentioned these can be cooked from frozen. How much longer should they be cooked for?
Thanks Marion! Now I know to cook wonton separately ~ was wondering why my soup was not as clear~ happy Mother’s Day! I’m trying the egg tarts today as no outing for dim dung this year, so I’m thinking these will be yum 😋 🤞
This was OMG perfect, and I used frozen won tons (chicken, veg, cilantro) The broth was pure perfection. I did use my homemade chicken bone broth though to be honest.
I have a question if I have someone who’s allergic to shrimp (Prawns) can I omit it or is there any substitute for the filling. Thank you for you’re time to make you’re videos.
Hi Marion! I will be making this wonton soup today. I hope it will be successful. By the way, how many minutes to wait when cooking the wonton dumplings in the boiling water?
Hi Marion, love your work. I've noticed that quite often you use ginger with the skin on. Do you wash it carefully as you may not realise that it is sprayed with a toxic product that stops it sprouting. Cook on and keep smiling, love a happy cook.
These look amazing, they are one of my favourite soups!i like to add some finely chopped wood ear mushrooms to my filling also. But I wonder, do you have a vegan wonton rs our recipe? I have two vegans in the house and would like to make for them too. Thanks!
Big slurp means super yummy! I know... cause I’m Asian! I just love waiting for her hand gestures at the end of her videos... it means total satisfaction 🤤
