How To MAKE YOGHURT At Home | BEST Yoghurt Recipe

Hey guys! I'm back with another easy, money-saving video! This week we are making yoghurt! It is so easy and as usual, affordable.
Note: You can put aside a small amount of yoghurt (about 500ml) to use as your culture for the next time you make yoghurt, instead of buying new yoghurt. This saves you even more money. However, I would advise replacing the culture with a fresh one every three or four times, to keep your yoghurt fresh.
Also, to make flavored yoghurt, I just blend fruits with this yoghurt. If I want to make banana yoghurt, I will just cut up a banana and toss it in the blender together with the yoghurt and soon I'll have banana yoghurt. Same applies to strawberry yoghurt.
Try it and let me know how it goes.

Just a polite suggestion, instead of using the steel whisk on your sufuria there are silicone ones that won't scour your stainless steel or aluminium pots.

In place of the aluminium containers and lids I would recommend the usage of ones made of stainless steel while processing and storing the yoghurt. Acidity in yoghurt can react negatively to aluminium.

Apart from saving money and being in control of the sugar content , I would also like to point that it means less plastic pots/cups ending up in the environment. The money saving aspect may be a bit less than what is said here, because you need to also factor in the cost for gas or electric. Overall though, I think it's a great idea and I think that I will give it a go.

Hi susy. I tried the oven method and OMG! I just wished i could DM you the outcome. It was perfect👌🏾. The consistency was ice cream like.You inspired me big time ❤️❤️. I tried the other one though but it didnt work. My question...is the dipping water to boil to 100 degrees or there is a certain temperature to maintain? I wonna give it another try. Be blessed

Yaaay! So happy for you Ida! You're a star! 💥💥 Instead of using the hot water system, I did a new video recently on how to make yoghurt without the oven. Have you tried that method? All the best! 👍🏾

Hi Pumza! It is a particular brand of yoghurt. Generally you can use any yoghurt as culture.

Really?! How strange! What culture did you use?
@mbengchristel6732
@mbengchristel6732 3 года назад
@Madlyn hello. Probably, your milk was too hot when you added your culture. From time to time I make my own yoghurt, so I noticed that if I add my culture when the milk is warm, the result is just wow👌. My advice : don't add culture and other ingredients when your milk is still on the fire... Again if you are using a non pasteurised milk, ie the ATM milk or milk straight from your cow, you will have to boil it first , not only warming, and then cool it down (until warm bc I don't have a thermometer, to check how warm it is, it should be slightly warmer than the water you can shower a two year old baby with). NB: 1) Boiling a non pasteurised milk will kill harmful bacteria in there. 2) For a start, you can make just for one litre of milk. Culture can be 100-150 ml and vanilla flavour or any flavour of your choice 1 teaspoon. 3) Sugar and flavour should be added at the end, ie after the 24hr fermentation, because sugar and flavour can interfere with the process of fermentation. (NOTE here that it should be +/- 24hrs, as during hot season/weather, after 15-20hrs, you should check if it is ready. I noticed that in hot summer like weather, after 24hrs my yoghurt had a slippery like texture. Conclusion:bc it's homemade, meaning we can't control the weather, allow 24hrs in cold weather and less than 24hrs in hot summer like weather ). 4) After fermentation, and sugar with flavour added, put it in the fridge for at least an hour. This allows your homemade yogurt to be thicker, and your sugar and flavour to incorporate nicely. Taste and adjust your sugar if need be. Don't forget to keep the rest in the fridge. 5)Be patient and keep trying with small quantity of milk. Suzy, Kindly correct me if I'm wrong 🙏. Thank you

@@mbengchristel6732 i totally agree with you that's how i make mine all the time,you should always use milk direct from cow not the packet one that has been skimmed,then boil your milk n then let it to cool down to a temp at least 42degrees or you can dip a finger n it should not burn after that add your culture or starter yoghurt n your flavor either vanilla or straw berry and mix evenly after that place it in a warm place for 12hour's n then after 12hrs transfer to Fridge for more 12hrs after that remove stir n add sugar according to your taste,that's how i make mine,can also watch from you tube yoghurt recipe,
