For my 928 I added a red strip LED light across the top of the rear window and wired that to the right side tail light. The wire fits nicely under the hatch rubber seal from the tail light to the roof and then at the top of the hatch run the cable under the ceiling panel and pop out at the glass to connect to the light. Gives a beautiful , modern looking eye level brake light. I did not want to glue the light to the window tint so I made a special mount from aluminium that is held in place between the roof and the ceiling panel.
That’s sounds like a nice way to do it. I’m sure it looks pretty nice and adds some safety to the car. I have plans to make a custom bumper/roll pan for my 924S and might be adding a led strip lower down across the back, but if it doesn’t work out I might try something like that.
Thanks Dude, I appreciate that! I do enjoy the videos where I'm kidding around so it's nice to hear you appreciate the humor. I'll keep making them. Ya, you should get started too. Thanks for the comment.
these are the tail lights I used www.amazon.com/DuaBhoi-Replacement-Reverse-Parking-Interior/dp/B08VNRN39M/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=2QUVNDETM3L1Z&keywords=duabhoi%2B1157&qid=1675470947&s=automotive&sprefix=duabhoi%2Cautomotive%2C163&sr=1-1-spons&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzNkE3WFBGNUM2UVdEJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNjA5NDI0OE5UVEdMS0ROQkJaJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA1MDY5NjhWVVlXSTRUM0hFTkImd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl&th=1 And these are brake lights www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P8QXJ5X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 Thanks Art, I'll keep em coming!
Did this same project 30 years ago, long before LED was available. Got spare plastic bulb holders off salvage yard. Wired the reflector bulb to stop light wire for more Stop Light Brightness. (again before bright LED was available)
Nice! I think doing it with a stock Porsche plastic plug makes the most sense, (if U can find 1) especially since the 1156 LED’s have evolved. Thanks 4 the comments Pablo!
ALSO on 951 and S2 , on US/Canada models a Euro driving light can be added to front fog light unit. just like in Europe/ROW. the Dongle in fuse box can also be mod to EROW specs. Can make reflectors out of generic rectangular driving lights (bosch hella)
these are the exact ones I used. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073WVRDVY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 To be honest though, I would look for some that have a slightly larger base if you can find them. Like a couple mm larger (if they make them). They worked fine, but the black rubber part was a little to small for the hole in the galvanized plate, so I had to use silicone adhesive to make them stay. That listing shows the dimensions in one of the pictures so if you could find some a little larger and better quality I think it might be worth it, if you don't want to have to glue them in. Otherwise it's no big deal, I just used the silicone around the plugs and let it get hard before I reasembled everything. Also for what its worth, there is/was a listing on eBay that sells a kit for I think 20 or 30 bucks that comes with everything you need, and advertises how their plugs are slightly larger and fit better in the whole for the socket. If I remember right, it came with bulbs, however it didn't show how many lumens they were.
