Remember: to use the knife blade you will need a Cricut maker. If you dont have a Cricut Maker and only have a Cricut explore air 2/3 use a Explore Black Deep cut. This one is also good for the Cricut maker aswell.
What setting did you used with the Air.? I created my own material using 350 pressure and deep point blade with 14 passes. It still did not cut. Please help me. Thanks
what settings are you using mine does not cut all the way through, how to you do the extra passes by pressing cut at the end of each cut and not unloading the mat? thanks for your great tutorial.
Nice tutorial. One critique: I found myself saying, “Just get to it!” I understand it’s probably because you’re a nurse. You’re thorough and we’re all preceptees watching you. Nevertheless, thanks for the video. I’m a RN and I want to make the members of my facility something to attach to the front of our badge reels. I’ll sub to your channel and hopefully learn more. Step 1) buy a Cricut.
When you say 2 extra passes, do you mean 2 plain passes, or 2 passes of 14 each (so 3 sets of 14 passes). I'm wondering if it would be easier to add a new material into your customized and add the total passes. Thank you for the quick tutorial, I was looking for a way to make blanks instead of buying them.
Thank you friend, the one I normally use I can no longer find. But this is what I have been told Also works so I have ordered from Amazon Grafix Ultra Clear .020 Plastic,
I don't know why but I can't cut this at all! Help! I have the 020 plastic grafix, knife blade, heavy chipboard setting but it looks like it can't do deeper I don't know why!
Yeah, sometimes they pop right out sometimes it takes so muscle. This is good if you need something now or something specific but not in bulk. I tried tracing with exacta but for me I would get harsh lines not smooth cut. I
This is a lovely tutorial and very helpful to me. I’m about to get a cricut but not sure the model to go for, can you advice me on this please. What model is yours? Thanks for sharing 👍🏽
Hello friend, I would choose based on what you will use it for. If your mainly going to cut vinyl than the air is a great option. The maker is a bit pricier however you can do other things such as engrave. The blades for different things are sold separately but there are many use options. I love my Cricut, I’m excited for you❤️
@@themostcraftynurse3914 Hi, thank you for your lovely reply. I will like to cut various things such as leather, fabric, vinyl, thin acrylic sheet, etc. Your reply is appreciated, thank you very much.
Hi, Sorry I was at my daughters house when I get home I will look on my Amazon purchases and link the acrylic sheets. And yes I used to use my explore air to with the deep cut blade
I have the explorer with 1mm acrylic sheets. I have the deep point blade but I cannot get it to cut through. I am not sure I’m using the right material setting. Please help!
I’m having the same issue i ordered the sheets from the link but i guess they aren’t the same 😫 I’m trying different setting and what not so if i get it to work i will update you
I know you said it'd take a while but my cricut said it'd take 36 hours which seems awfully long. Then I tried to do it and it was 70% through and cricut cancelled my project cuz they forced an update and it quit out the program.
Oh my gosh, I am so sorry that happened. I’m wondering if it was something to do with that update because when I say long time, I’m in like 45 minutes. It’s been a long time since I’ve cut any acrylic with my Cricut so I don’t know if anything has changed. But that’s definitely not how long it should’ve taken. And I’m so sorry that you got that forced shut off.
I’m sorry, it should. I’m not sure why, Is your acrylic to thick? The maker will not cut >.20. I’ve not cut any in a while because the acrylic I use has been on back order. If I can find a piece I’ll throw it in yo see if I can figure out what might be keeping it from cutting. Mine does not lift right out but only take some minor bending to pop out.
I am so sorry I have never cut this with the explorer air two it would have to be something that requires the deep cut blade. When I met my daughters this weekend I will look at hers and see if I can figure it out and let you know.
I followed your instructions. i used your link to buy the 20 sheets of acrylic. i used my cricut maker and knife blade, did 35 passes and it still will not cut through. help
Hey! Make sure your cricut dial is set to custom, and if it is then try purchasing a set of blades with differently angled blades, and use a blade with a higher angled edge (like 60 degrees)
So on maker, did you go to materials and use wood? You said you used knife blade. How thick is your acrylic sheets? Tomorrow I will make some more and make sure you can see each detail. I’m sorry your having a challenge with this. We will figure out what’s happening.
