hey everyone! i made a scrolling news ticker with raspberry pi and LED panels. it's here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-omMVAtGGr_0.html
can you use the lights without it being attached to the computer? for example, could you attach the lights to your shirt and still have it sound activated?
I’ve watched every single other video on your channel because your content is so high quality. Imagine my surprise when I found out you make high quality content on another topic I enjoy :)
Where did he get the sound input from? Was it over usb or what? I am watching and it looks like he never uses a sensor to get the sound from so I'm confused.
He's using his PC mic. That's where Processing comes in. In short, the PC is sending the mic level to the Arduino via USB to Serial. It wouldn't work just with the Arduino.
I frickin' love programming.. This is so damn fascinating to me. Like, when watching this, I had this stupid grin on my face from amazement. This is just so damn awesome. I can't wait to get into programming. I start TUESDAY! :D YAAAAAAAAY!
Amazing video mate! now, it's possible to program a command to sync with Alexa/google/siri to do a patron when given a command like "movie time" and lights turn off and the LEDs strips do a patron like around the room once and then stays off? LoL dunno if I explained my self properly. :D Thanks in advance
ok instead of using led's how can I change this to run lasers? R/G/B/UV only prob is my power units are 5v/9v/12v at a nice 30 amps my other unit is a 13.8 volts at 40 amps
YOOO this dude whos obsessed with blood does electronics??!!! Im waatching this vid to see how u feed the entire audio input to the arduino, im making a full bridge class D amp with my arduino
Not working after uploading code lights not comming on I have powered the lits externally. I have Adurino Nano what pins I should connect the the LED wired
Can these lights be programmed to have just one light if playing a note on a guitar? For example, you simply strum a C note on the guitar and a light will go on indicating playing a C note. And or if 12 notes/lights and play a C program it light up the three notes in the chord example CEG. The rest of the lights would stay off. Anyone interested in playing around building one of these message me. Like to be able to interact with it using an iPhone app for other music theories and evolve it further.
Great instructional video! I'm trying to figure out how to do the same thing on a smaller scale. Would you have any guidance as to how to have an independent voice box with pre-recorded voices (or music) that is coupled with the LED lights? I've done some research and have seen the recordable voice boxes, but nothing that would link LED lights. So I need to construct something small, about 2"x2" voice box which connects the LEDs. I appreciate any insight. Thanks!
Could you do a tutorial on how to sync this with music? Im new to programming, and visual aid really helps me. It'd be awesome to see how to line the ceiling and sync it with music, possibly with bluetooth? Thanks!
I'd say around 50-60 dollars. You can save a lot of money using old parts but the arduino uno is about 30 dollars, probably less. These are everywhere nowadays, just go pick one up from your local electronics shop. Knock-offs from china are even cheaper. It may depend on where you live. I'm from eastern Europe.
The led stream code is not working ...i dont know where did i went wrong? can you send me the actual LED_STREAM and the PROCESSOR CODE that you have used in your program...bacause you've said that i have used "minim = new Minim(this); in = minim.getLineIn();"...But i didn't any code in the processor code....
I am doing my senior project for my IT major. I am making a musical gumball machine from scraps because I have very little money. Some of my classmates and professor gave me materials for the technical portion of the project. I need the machine to lights up and play music as a gumball (marble for testing) rolls down the slides. My current model is a coin bank and uses a sliding lever to initially retrieve a gumball. After that happens I don't know how I'm going to get the lights and music to be reactive. I have access to an arduino and raspberry pi. However, I really don't have money for any extra components. I do have resistors, wires, power cables, and a breadboard, bu that's it. Can you help me figure out where to start?
Hello. This is great... but I'm looking for a way to make individual colours of LEDS react to different audio frequencies - ie. bass = red, green = upper mid, blue = lower mid, amber = treble. Anyone done this? Thanks :)
Could you make a video on how to do something similar to this but making the led lights more of a lightning effect? I am trying to do a cool diy project for my 4 year old sons bedroom where I am trying to create a realistic thunder and lightning storm effect as he loves storms. Id love to have the knowledge of how to make it happen for him please.!
can you do this with the ws2811 3 wire or ws2812B 3 wire rgb led lights. Also how does the arduino get the sound I did not see any MIC or SOUND SENSOR or any Jack for input of sound I am so confused I watched the video 7 times even slowed down the speed idk maybe I am just blind. Does the arduino need to be connected to my pc??by way of IDE cable perhaps?? I usually do not read the comments they only tend to confuse me by the time I reach the end with all the added ways to do the project not to mention the wonderfully happy people who comment so nicely they make a drunken sailor marine vietnam war vet seem like a church boy.
So I had a question, I got one of the sound sensing microphones from Keyes and well one of my questions was I'm trying to make a sound activated led strip but every time the sound sensor senses sound, the led starts blinking and I just wanted to know if there was any way I could get it to fade instead of blinking. This is for an architectural project and I really want to figure this one out. My code goes like if (sensorvalue >= threshold) { digitalWrite(3, HIGH); } else { digitalWrite(3, LOW); } Its set to only be on when threshold is met and off when threshold is not met. but what I want it to do is fade and get brighter when sound is on and fade out slowly once the sound goes off instead of just switching off. Please help, it ll be much appreciated.
Could you possibly make this mobile and set it to a speaker or microphone? I'm looking for something that I could hook up to a costume so it changes to different colors from the beat and two different sounding voices (like if you listen to the song Broken by Lund). Is this even possible? And is it possible for it to switch colors during a song?
Thanks for the Video Sir. Can please send the list of materials needed for this project? I would like to make my own voice activated lights. Thanks and Godbless
Please, dont use a gate on your voice, and turn the gain knob down a bit, its distorted. If you really want to use a gate, make the attack as short as possible and the release way longer, 1.5 seconds or something like that
Hi. Would you know how to maybe make a simple sound/bass synced led-connected portable speaker, wearable for, say, a cosplay set up or where I could get one? I know they have wireless led speakers, but getting one that syncs with the audio has been difficult.
OMG, I'm trying to learn but I'm starting at level 0.Thank you for making this understandable and fun. would I be able to add on the touch and videos easily after making my own box for each light??
Thank you for the excellent video. I do have one question. I did not clearly understand what file to load into processing(just before adding the minim library, around the 4:10 time bar). Could you help me with this? Thanks. -- update -- I looked at the comments section of the code that was loaded into processing, it mentioned Ada Light so that is what I loaded into processing. And I added the minim library. But it will not compile it throws an error on line 75 asking for a right bracket. Could the code have been edited since this video was made. I am new to this whole process so debugging this code is not going to be easy for me. Thanks for any help you can give! -- another update, its seems the adalight sketch works for me, but the emu does not. =/
Hi sir i want to connect different led with that like "Adafruit neopixel digital RGBW led strips" can i connect with Arduino uno, it will work same as this one or different ,?
i love this and have been meaning to do a setup with sound reactive lights, only problem is the set up. i am using an eyefinity setup with 3 60 inch tvs, and my pc is in the center on the floor. so i gotta figure out how to get the strand across from one side to the other.
