This was really useful. The vectors didn't work for me though. Image trace on Illustrator kept telling me the image was too big, yet even when I reduced it, it didn't like it.

is there a way to add those custom textures to the layer styles panel/textures.... the one that opens up when u double click a layer and you can add shadows etc (there are some leaves and default things there but I cant seem to find how to add custom textures there). very helpful when I have hundreds of object and I want to apply the same texture. thanks

Very good. A bit speedy, but a lot of info is given also. Hard to take it all in, but this was precisely what I was looking for. And I will see it again, and take a few notes with a pen and paper, like back to school. Or else I'll forget it. It's rare that you find what you are looking for. Thanks for this.

My main problem with textures is that they rarely are detailed enough. Mostly you get rather rough textures, that blow out way too much of your grunge text. So for example, the average rust or stone texture on a 1200px canvas is not really suited for a subtle grunge effect, that simulates only a light weathering.

@@koi1299 it is nowhere near the same as photoshop buddy. GIMP is insanely limited and far less intuitive in every way. i've seriously tried using it repeatedly over the last few years and i can hardly make sense of how to do basic tasks

Hi. Great video. I created the texture successfully and made it a colour as your video shows you can. However how would I clip this coloured texture to a coloured shape? The texture is a green grain and the circle is pink and when placed over the circle without clipping it shows perfectly with the green grain and the pink background coming through underneath. However when I try to do a clipping mask the texture turns white? Any help with this greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would like to add a pattern to shapes that looks like the very fine screen noise from a scanner. Yeah I know, you would normally NOT want to see that but in this case, well, it's a special case. I was playing with linen textures etc and just not getting there. Optimally I would like to have something in my library that I could apply to any fill. How would you suggest I go about doing that? Thanks!

i keep getting these warning after clicking Ctrl + RGB on channels pannel: warning ⚠ no pixels are more than 50% .... do you know what I'm doing wrong?
