This video is like Immortal: It's impossible to tell to what extent it is serious or satire and I'm reasonably sure the guy behind it neither knows nor cares.
Haha, loved the "60 Seconds to Mix It"! Your videos from earlier last year inspired me to buy a guitar. I also bought your lessons on udemy , which have helped me tremendously. I even picked up tremolo quickly!
Would highly recommend Kristian Kohle's Rainbows and Chainsaws IR pack if anyone is recording guitar direct rather than mic'ing a cab. The Chainsaw part of the pack has some great IR's specifically for black metal.
If I´m ever going to write a BM song, I will stick with this tutorial... Wait a minute, I already have! Ironically as well as unironically xD cool tutorial, and Reverb is King! Greetings from Lotasticland
that's why there are plenty of shitty bands and songs today.... people don't live that life anymore (no inspiration)... every scumbag can make music.. like oneman project and one idea..... it's sad
If you really want a tr00 BM gat solo, you can either ask the bass player to play it for you or simply turn the guitar over and play it left handed. The ham-fistedness is the key here. ;)
I find randomly moving my fingers as fast as I can over the fretboard whilst hitting random strings works too. Sometimes it actually sounds quite good, at which point I hit delete and start again. 😀
Hey Simon I have a question. Do you double track your guitars? I double track them but not sure if I have to do it in all types of black metal projects or not. Also Idk why but whenever I put vocals on my black metal project the sound just doesn't sit in the mix (I only add REVERB to it) and I always need to add some distortion to it to sound... smoother? I'd really appreciate your help.
Hi, yes I normally double track them, even the solos. As for the vocals, not sure how to tackle that one as I've not had that issue before. Maybe one of the mixing channels might have some tips?
i recorded an entire album but even if is very black oriented it sounds doom metal even on black metal riffs 🤣 can i link you something? i spended too much hours mixing it.
Substitute vintage drums with soup cans, and remember: lots of diminished intervals on guitar - the higher on the neck, the better! Trve Kvlt with a capital 'V'!
Da Fuk am I a getting a New Kids on the Block & Paula Abdul ad on I i had to watch. Anyway Kids Øystein Aarseth (22 March 1968 - 10 August 1993),[1] better known by his stage name Euronymous, was a Norwegian musician and a founder of and central figure in the early Norwegian black metal scene. He was a co-founder and guitarist of the Norwegian black metal band Mayhem and was the only constant member from the band's formation in 1984 until his death in 1993. He was also founder and owner of the extreme metal record label Deathlike Silence Productions and record shop Helvete. Euronymous professed to being a theistic Satanist and was known for making extreme misanthropic statements. He presented himself as leading a militant cult-like group known as the "Black Metal Inner Circle". In August 1993, he was murdered by fellow musician and former bandmate Varg Vikernes.
