For $61 you can get a bearing kit from Steering Column Services that works flawlessly and doesn't have all of the headaches associated with this one...
That kit will work great as a stock replacement. This is an upgraded bearing and provides much tighter, responsive steering than the stock style can by fault of the stock design itself.
definitely not worth the incredible price hike. $100 for this or $27 for a stock replacement and i dont have to deal with Allen head set screws with lock tite which DEFINITELY wont strip out and cause a headache in the future if you need to service the bearing. for $25 extra dollars i got everything to rebuild my column with stock replacement parts.
You can certainly choose to go that route to save a little money. This is worth every penny of the price it costs because it is a superior design. The stock design is flawed and this strengthens the entire steering assembly. The fully encapsulated bearing keeps water and debris out so there won’t be a need to service the bearing whereas the stock bearing design is open to all of that. I have three steering columns with the stock bearing style and they all have the same problem. Regardless, I’m glad you’re working to keep your square on the road and hope you have fun with the rebuild!
@@jebirmann2989 all parts fail. Nothing lasts forever and considering the original bearings are made in usa and still failed……check mate. My point isnt how long they will last. My point is how the design will result in future headaches in the future. Never said they wouldnt last longer than chinese parts.
