Chevys have torque management that limits engine power under about 2300 rpms to prevent destroying the transmission (because the torque convertor doesn't even lock up until a little over 2000 rpms) if you get a custom tune and delete it they will do burnouts just FINE. some of the best burnouts I have seen were buy Chevy trucks even with it still on. Having bigger tires definitely makes it harder to do one. Mine still does it with meaty 35's on most road surfaces, but I also have an extra 60 horse over your typical 5.3
@redneckengineering7739
@redneckengineering7739 5 лет назад
If you tune out torque management you will need a new transmission lol

Heres a pro tip to make any truck do a burnout, bottle of water on the tires. I can make minivans pull good burnouts with just a small bottle of water, and is less stressful on the drivetrain. Or have a manual, or nuetral drop. 3 easy ways to do a burnout with no mods. Pretty sure none of these methods will work on these new fancy esp and tc system trucks. Too many white soccer moms switched to trucks, now they are too damn safe for fun.

First of all dropping in to first does absolutely nothing. The transmission starts and first anyway…… Second of all, you are still engaging the rear brakes edit doesn’t have enough power to overcome them that may work on something else, but not in this situation.
@thomasashbaugh2846
@thomasashbaugh2846 Год назад

@TheHomeWrencher_1776
@TheHomeWrencher_1776 Год назад
Technically, both of you are correct to a point theoretically, it depends on what make and model you have what transmission you have what type of management your transmission or drivetrain control, uses some modern transmissions will actually start off in second gear if they’re not under a load by dropping it down into low, or one will put the valve body into low gear just keeping it there some GM transmissions like the 4L 60 E will still shift into second gear while in low or first gear so technically both of you are correct but at the same time there’s really no point of arguing back-and-forth everybody on the Internet argues back-and-forth pointlessly half the time agree to disagree and maybe somebody has a better point or maybe somebody has a lousy point but hey, who am I to argue and tell somebody they’re stupid or they make a ridiculous comment Maybe it works in their application. Hope you guys have a great day. God bless.
@Treaxvour
@Treaxvour Год назад
@@TheHomeWrencher_1776absolutely 100%. It's so funny when people argue like this and both are right in reference to different applications. A content creator shouldn't argue with people in their comments regardless. Totally childish.

Redneck Engineering I’ve seen bone stock high mileage 4.8s and 5.3s spin 35s on dry pavement. The key is to crank the wheel all the way to the right, quickly brake torque then release the brake and immediately get back on them and straighten it out. If it doesn’t do it, something’s wrong with the truck. My 149 horsepower 4.9 Straight 6 F-150 would do burnouts all day.
@redneckengineering7739
@redneckengineering7739 4 года назад
There are far more factors that you are not considering gear ratio being one of them which this truck does not have very good gears in the transmission is going to limit the torque output of the motor to keep from hurting it also Tier composition like how slock the road is I’m not saying what you are saying won’t work but this is much easier and it’ll probably even shift into third gear Because you don’t have the drag of the brakes

You could just cut the hard line and add a valve which would do the same thing although you would need to need to blend your brakes but if you squeeze your line enough your going to brake it and bleed it anyways.
@redneckengineering7739
@redneckengineering7739 3 года назад
That will be pointless if you only do it every so often what you are trying to say is I need a line lock kit and I’m not squeezing off a metal brake line it’s a rubber hose and as long as you don’t damage it it will be fine don’t use sharp teeth pliers

@@redneckengineering7739 there's speed sensors in wheel bearings on some makes and models but I believe on chevys it's for your abs and stabilitrac.
