Tanya, Thank you for this tutorial. Just finished moving files to USB. I went from 0.43gb to 1.36gb of internal storage. Found Xplore a lot better and safer(security wise) than ES.
@@dewaynehanson3751 Have you formatted it to FAT32? Have you partitioned the storage with ADB shell on your Fire OS 6 device or added it as internal storage on your Fire OS 7 device?
Tanya, I'm just making sure of what you said, that I cannot run any programs/apps directly from my external device? what I wanted to do is clear some apps that I still use occasionally onto the external storage, to free up space on the fire stick, so that I can install more regular used apps to the stick.
You can run apps from the external storage if you have partitioned that storage to allow it. The 4K Firestick follows this process: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TAy1VTaJk2o.html The 3rd Gen and the Lite follow a different process that does not need ADB, you can add the external storage directly by following this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xilUcuHpk3Y.html Thank you for watching 😊👍❤️
Tanya, Great videos and very helpful. Thanks so much. I do have a problem though in being able to see the files on the USB stick. In this video at 2:45 you show the x-plore display and it looks just like mine. Then, magically at 2:48 you show the x-plore display and there us a Sandisk USB that appears. How did you get that to show? I have a 128G flash drive attached and it works perfectly as far as moving apps to it and conserving space on the internal drive. When I installed it I formatted it as "internal storage" so I could put apps there. Can you tell me how I can get x-plore to show that storage? Thanks again.
Hi Tanya, I found your video very easy to follow as you explain the concepts very well. Question: I have several FireSticks and wanted to share the LiveTV Favorite channels amongst these devices without having to manually set on each stick. I was looking around the file system but was not able to find a directory/folder or file that contains these favorites. Would you know where the file is located, or if copying these favorites is even an option? Thanks in✌ advance for your help. Bill Marsh

Hi. For adding storage, it is a different process depending on which Fire OS you have. If you only want to attach additional storage to save and share files with your Fire TV, this video will show you how: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LQ7Na-hzeX4.html If you want to attach additional storage so that you can use that storage to get more space to install apps, you will need to follow a different process depending on which version of the Fire operating system your device is running on. Your storage has to be formatted to FAT32 for it to be recognised. If you have not done anything else to your external drive (such as partition to additional system storage) you should be able to see it in X-plore. Force close X-plore. Remove your storage from the OTG and re-insert it. Open X-plore - it should ask for permission to your storage. If not, then uninstall and re-install X-plore and try again. Depending on how you added your storage will affect how you can see your storage in a file explorer.
