Can a maxillary retention cyst effect the Eustachian tube? I have a large maxillary retention cyst and wonder if it’s irritated my nasopharynx and blocks off my eustschian tube? Thank you!

It is said that the grommit falls out by itself after some time. But it looks symmetrical in design... What's to prevent it from falling out on the wrong side of the eardrum, and getting stuck inside the ear? I can't be the only person who has this concern, surely?

I had mine put in when I was 5, one fell out a year after another 13 years after though I had no pain or irritation with it in my ear canal for so long. It was also covered in wax so never seen by doctors ect

Though it wasn’t the wrong side the tube has a wide edge on the external side to stop it “falling through”

12 to 18 months!?!?! I thought he was doing to say 12 to 18 hours. 😲

It's just ear tubes. A lot of kids get them. It doesn't mean that it takes 12 to 18 months for your ears to drain. Just that the device stays in your ear drum that long before they usually fall out. It helps the fluid drain all the time so it doesn't happen again.

@@snowps1 , does it fall out on it's own?
@snowps1
@snowps1 3 года назад
@@Reeflections Yes, they can. They make a slit in your ear drum and insert a tiny piece of tubing. That's it. It's not sewn in. Sometimes they do come out before they are supposed to.

Dear Ev K, we are sorry to hear that you are experiencing this problem with your ears. Unfortunately we can only recommend UK-based private doctors as these doctors have passed the Top Doctors selection process and we can be sure they are leading specialists. If you have private medical insurance you could request to see a specialist ENT doctor or investigate specialist ENT clinics, but if you are going through the public system you are still able to request specialist referral from your GP. We are sorry we cannot recommend any particular doctor to you - if you should ever visit the UK for medical treatment we would be happy to give you our recommendations. Kind regards, The Top Doctors Team

@@TopDoctorsUK I can apply for UK citizenship because my mother is English and then pay privately?
@TopDoctorsUK
@TopDoctorsUK 5 лет назад
@@MrEvanTea You wouldn't need to apply for citizenship if you wanted to go private in England, as it's separate from the NHS system. You could choose the doctor you wanted to visit and go down the route of self-pay. You can check our ENT doctors based in England if you are interested in making an appointment, and if you would like to get in touch with any of them or have any pricing enquiries, you can contact them on the number listed on their profile. Our full list of ENT doctors can be found here: doctor/otolaryngology-ent/
