I hope that this was worth the wait, thank you guys for being so patient! And a special thanks to ArtieThePartie for suggesting this video, I spent many hours planning, recording, and editing this with your exact request in mind. I hope it helps! And yes, I'm still using my old Saber transition despite changing my channel art to center around Azoth. This will change for the next guide, it's just that I wanted to release this on Friday with no exceptions, and that wouldn't have been possible I spent all my time changing such a trivial aspect of the video. I'm sure that we can all agree that a guide's information is much more important than it's visual appeal, so I allocated my time to refining that instead. @@Rxpier Ironically I don’t 😂 my name comes from a cubing term called “___ Perm” where the blank is a letter that represents a set of moves to solve the Rubik’s cube. Vyn is my name and V, Y, and N are all perms
I wasn’t sure how to get anywhere passed plat other then cleaning up my strings. I knew movement was important but was not sure how to dip my toes in training. This and the way to in depth guide to Artemis seems to be very helpful.
i'm being 100% sincere when I say this is the best movement guide; better than the ones pros make. It goes into detail about every significant method of movement any brawlhalla player will ever need. more detailed options could be cancelling chase dodge momentum, cancelling dashes in the middle of the dash etc. This will help me a lot with my general improvement of this game and i appreciate all the effort you have put into making this, what makes this vid truly standout worthy is the examples of real tournaments of pros using these methods to add conviction to your guide, thank you. Also, may you makea video about pressure and approaching? i know it ties into movement but there are some distinguishable qualities between the two, just a request.
Thank you so much my friend, your comment truly means everything to me ❤️❤️❤️ I put a lot of thought into this guide, especially regarding the clips of the pros, because they can demonstrate it better than I ever could. I’m just here to analyze it. And yes, I’ve been asked to do guides on neutral game and pressuring many times before, so those will be my next big guides, very similar to this one. However, that will take a large amount of time because, well, they’re such large topics and I want to only relay advice that I haven’t heard other people say before. To do this, I’ve split it up into multiple planned videos, including a guide itself, and some analyses showcasing how they will be applied. Of course, none of this is finalized yet, I haven’t even started writing the script. These are just my plans. Thank you again! ❤️❤️❤️
@@PermBH My pleasure! Take as much time as you need bro, no rush, make sure you take care of yourself and everything before priotitoze any video, it’s an honour to give positive feedback and connect with content creators. You truly deserve a lot more recognition from hard work and I feel like you’re in the right tracks, keep it up!
I will be honest i was confused at first watching other peoples tutorials And the moment i saw how long the vid was i was like naaaaaah this to long but when i sat down and watched this i realised this is the most helpfull guide ive seen so far ilittirally hit my highest rank just watcing this guide and applying all your tips to my play Thank you very much
Thank you, I knew most of the moves here, but I was completely confused wondering when to use it in a match and when, until I saw your video. Thanks for putting a lot of effort in this video. Ps: I couldn’t find a single tutorial when to use before
You shouldve talked about how you can platform cancel into any attack by dashing into it. You can also do any grounded movement after a platform cancel, meaning you can platform cancel into a dashjump fast fall, dash dodge, etc.
Thank you for this video! I've been practicing these movement techniques but haven't quite figured out when to use them, but this video makes it a lot more clear and also points out the bad habits I've developed practicing for the wrong cause. For that I'm definitely joining the subscription train :)
and also being that movement is my best trait this video was amazing great video you touched everything super well the only thing I’d say is that you should touch on fast falling in the air, fast falling directly in their threat range then either jumping or up dodging before they attack so punish or simply attack right on them. Oh wait you said grounded movement guide ._.
Thank you! No that’s fine haha I probably should have touched on it, the only reason I didn’t was bc there’s so many other movement guides on YT that I had to make mine super specific to make it unique. In the end tho, I realized that there are some more things I could’ve covered, but if I started to cover some aerial things, I would have to cover all of them to make it complete. Thank you for this comment Hoziie! ❤️❤️❤️
No worries when they move in place like that it’s so they’re ready to move in any direction they need to. Imo standing still doing nothing is better to bait someone to attack you, moving in place is more to make sure you’re prepared for when they attack you
Well the hardest thing for me to learn out of this whole guide is X-pivot.....I don't know y maybe it's because I'm on controller 🎮 I don't know it's just hard..I did it a few times but not consistent
Only thing I have to say is you just gotta be quick with the change in directions. The attack is less important at first, focus on getting that PIVOT down, and then you can add the attack
@@PermBH yo I'm trying to hit plat but with playing scythe I need more Ariel movement I know how to count my options when off stage but I need more movement for pressuring from the air, not so I can just hit dair either just so i can have them burn a dodge so I can get a punish in a more rewarding way for me........my bad if it was hard to follow what I was saying
I needed this to improve my movement and gameplay because I been getting destroyed by toxic players. And I mean alot to the point I quit the game I don’t know how many times. Hopefully I can succeed and beat down any toxic opponent that made me bring my demon out at times.
Yes, this is a very common opener and for good reason, it does work very well if your opponent also jumps bc you can either Nair or just grab the weapon depending on the timing
lots of people do this. I tend to fight a LOT that do that. I started to just let the players get their weapons. It also helps me learn what type of fight I'll be in. Because then either you're going to rush me or you're going to hang back. Meaning. you think I'm going to go for weapons therefore you're you're and to gatekeeper. Which I love to fight. I find all the opening because I know you're mind is on defending against me being armed, and I perfected my unarmed fighting far more than weapon fighting. I actually suck at weapon fighting. If you rush, then I know your weakness is most likely me slowing you down.
Ok so this guide primarily focuses on situations when you’re already on the ground, so I’m sure you’ll find something useful, but as for the landings thing, I can give you a tip right here: make sure you’re not always landing with an aerial. It gets very predictable when you always try to land with a move on top of your enemy, and they can just out-space it and punish you. Instead try to land farther away from them or on platforms. Also try throwing your weapon down/at them. Hope this helps!
I love this guide it’s so helpful thnx can u make maybe an axe or hammer or lance or even katars guide if u haven’t I’m trying to get better with Ragnir Scarlet or even Petra if you want to make a guide on orb or fists 🙏 🙏 If u don’t it’s ok this movement guide was amazing
Thanks for the tips!! Maybe I actually hit diamond now. I'm high 1800 but I too feel like my floaty gameplay is keeping me back from hitting diamond or at least high platinum. I knew about these movements I just wasn't sure how to exactly use them Alsooo, what's your peak elo? I'm actually curious 🤔
I’m glad you learned something, and good luck with that! This guide has already helped a few others hit new ranks so I’m confident you will too! Peak 1966. I think it’s pretty funny that a lot of the people watching and learning from these guides are either reaching diamond or 2100+, and I’m not even diamond myself. That’s why I always include a bunch of video sources in these big guides, so I can justify me giving this advanced advice
@@PermBH That's a really good tactic to show that you have credibility. It's also better to have that visual representation so that visual learners can also understand what you're saying! With all the knowledge you have, I'm sure you'll hit diamond. You just gotta keep up the grind!! I wish you good luck as well. Maybe we can both hit diamond together sometime :D
@@Othorius Little known fact, most of my improvement has come in the last 2 months through doing research for these guides. I’ve increased over 250 ELO just by listening and watching to the pros, and discussing these things with highly ranked community members. I’m sure we’ll be able to hit diamond soon, although that’s not my main goal right now. I personally enjoying making RU-vid content much more!
@@PermBH of course, the part about the jump dash fast fall and platform movement has helped me a lot. I catch a lot of my opponents off guard with these movements. So thank you again : D
Do you have a video on things with 2v2? I'm having alot of struggles in gold and I'm usually a mid plat in solo, my brother isn't very good but I should be able to manage
I believe HardyMJ was working on a pro 2v2 guide, but no I don’t have one. I know Remmy has a good general 2v2 guide, and Van Thurl has a tips and tricks video
I play on the ps4 and I really wanna know something. Is it alot more better and rewarding to play with the joystick rather then the dpad? Cause I've been using the dpad ever since I started playing brawlhalla in 2019. So me playing dpad is it going to be harder to do these movements???
Hey man nice video, detailed and precise. But help me out bit, u see I can do all of these in training mode, but in actual game, I feel sluggish, like my fingers feel heavy or smth (feel me?). I can't get these practically. Besides the obvious "keep practicing", tell me smth which with help, like smth particular, if it makes sense. I hope u reply, thanks for the vid as always.
Thank you Aditya! Yeah I totally feel you there. So ofc I don’t know your exact situation, but my advice would be to recognize the situation faster. If my fingers feel slow, or I’m not playing well, I try to focus on slowing down the pace of the game, and recognizing each situation one by one. If you can put all your effort into reacting optimally, then it shouldn’t matter if your fingers feel slow bc you’re quick in the head. It’s like speed vs. efficiency. You can have the quickest fingers in the world but if you can’t efficiently recognize the situation it doesn’t matter. Hope this helps!
Btw I forgot to mention that a lot of this comes down to experience, but you can practice this by going into real games and just focusing on one movement technique. For example, I spent the last 2 or so months practicing platform-cancels every single game. I sucked at first, but now since I only focused on recognizing that situation, and executing it for 2 whole months, platform-cancel tech is second nature to me.
Dash/dash-jump then very quickly turn around and attack while you’re still in the dash. Some moves can’t be x-pivoted. Try it with a Jhala axe side sig
Depends on what you prefer. I like joystick bc it’s easier for me to do diagonal inputs, esp when I’m moving really fast, altho some ppl will tell you dpad is better. Just depends on which one you like the most
Lol thanks for the response. I was shocked when I heard your joystick moving cuz I was always told that dpad is better, so I assumed everyone used dpad.
Try to input the dodge on the same frame as you start to hold back on your movement keys. If you don't input on the same frame, your legend would very clearly turn around before dodging, which is a lot slower
You can either turn around and anti-air to punish, or dash forward to avoid it since they’re going past you. I wouldn’t spot dodge tho bc it’s super easy to wait out and hit you
This is hard to say bc it all depends on your opponent. The only guidelines you need to follow when dodging are: don’t dodge the same way twice, and don’t spot dodge, dodge in, and imo dodge down (esp offstage). These dodges are all very predictable, esp when you’re being sent offstage
