I just can't wrap my head around the fact that any other filmmaker/youtuber alive would have sold this 3 hours information through a masterclass or course for at least 300$ but you just gave it to us for free. I don't have enough words to thank you Dan. This is philanthropy. Most impactful filmmaking Philanthropy I've ever witnessed in this platform. Really, I'm without words. Thank you so much.

@@NavierPatterson hahahaha no you do not, I was the worst student. I just downloaded the video, transcribed it with timecodes using Whisper and then gave the transcript to an LLM. Then all I had to do was ask it to summarise it in a specific way with youtube compatible timestamps.
I am an adult father of 2 working full time and trying to grow as a filmmaker/videographer on the side and this was insanely eye opening. Not only did i watch this all the way through, but I will be re-watching this. I know this will get lost in the thousands of comments but this was more helpful that i think you realize. First time watcher and new sub thank you.
it took me 1 mounth to watch all the video thank you dan when i saw you in zanzibar with nasdaily for the fist time i know you was genius but im sorry make i will be biger then you inshallah
Holy crap, I literally had my credit card details inside of MasterClass to take a filmmaking course. Then I just felt like searching on RU-vid to see if I could find a video instead of subscribing to MasterClass, and I am so happy I did because I found this masterpiece. Thank you for saving me $240!
The fact that your channel is under 1M followers is truly incomprehensible. Probably the most underrated channel and content on RU-vid. Thank you for your videos!
You are amazing, a true inspiration. We admire you greatly. We are on this journey with high hopes and a strong desire to grow. In our country, we have to do many things besides creating videos, and time is an added value that we deeply appreciate. Thank you for showing that with dedication and effort, great things can be achieved. Let’s keep moving forward with passion and determination!😍👍
Bru... Respect! That was a hell of a ride. Thanks for the time you put on sharing your passion. For someone that is in the process of making a doco this was really refreshing and educational to watch. :) SO many great nuggets in there. Also loved to discover your passion and skill on the music side as a main driver for your creations. Chur.
I’m convinced this stands as the most impactful, insightful pieces of content on RU-vid right now. A free feature length in depth process covering everything from start to finish, that is both educational and highly entertaining. This is what RU-vid needs more of. Thank you bru! ❤
Hey, great video! I just wanted to point out a small mistake: You mentioned that the PAL format is used in certain countries 41:30 , but the locations you pointed out actually use the NTSC format. It's an easy mix-up, but I thought I'd let you know so your content stays accurate. Keep up the awesome work!
Hey, great video. In my opinion the biggest problem with RU-vidrs now is their lack of strategy. Like they upload everything straight away, and then they run out of ideas. This business is about constant uploading, but not too many times per week (and also after I upload something, I use a bit of Famester to make that piece of content instantly viral and popular). It's better to upload like once or twice per week, and it helps to avoid burn out.
Depends on what type of RU-vid channel you're running. Real estate agents with channels can't wait because our viewers buy or sell houses in between uploading the video
Love your dedication towards your work. I am a full-time content creator and in future. I would love to work with you, bro. I just love your work. God bless you. Keep hustling, rise and shine much love .
I took so many notes from this, so far I’ve watched it twice. Big Dan Mace fan, thank you for the ridiculous amount of time and effort you just gave away for free!
I watched this entire vid to the end and I must say, this has been one of the best filmmaking course video I've ever watched. I feel guilty getting this level of knowledge for free. You are best Dan! We will work together in the future, I'm sure of it😤 Thank you bru ❤
I’m a Just a guy from Sri Lanka that loves filmmaking and photography. I’m trying my very best to make a name for myself because I love the art of it. I’ve been watching countless RU-vid tutorials trying to understand the key elements of a good filmmaker but I don’t think I’ve ever come across a tutorial so transparent. The fact that every Raw moment was shared and that it was done simultaneously while doing other projects on the go, just showed us how genuine you truly are and your love for the art of filmmaking. I’ve never been drawn to a video like I have with this. And I can promise you will watch this countless more times so I can absorb as much as I possibly can. I am truly grateful for this video Dan❤. Thanking you is simply not enough, so if you ever travel towards Sri Lanka hit me up and i would be more than honoured to show you our little paradise 🇱🇰.
This is the best 'Master' tutorial I have ever watched. This is everything you're looking for to get an insight into how other filmmakers do their work, so you can be confident about your own and know if you're on the right path. You never get the full picture of how it really is, but here you do, and even from the same person and the same film/project! Thank you very much for this incredible tutorial. I really hope it makes other filmmakers comfortable with making more films and following their dreams outside their comfort zone. I've never made a comment like this before, but when people like you take the time to create content like this, it deserves all the respect! 🙏
Nobody has released such In-depth Video of RU-vid Video creation till date. Your video will definitely help many filmmakers, editors, and aspiring artists. Thank you for your work.
Hey it's me. **The 100% retention guy**. Watched the entire thing here Dan. What a great video. Every single time I watch your videos, I get inspired and I am not even close to a film maker in any way, honestly. The @36:00 mark was pretty powerful and my first BIG smile came right at @53:00. You almost nailed the "how long is this video right now" time, well done, even as the one that edits it :) I wasn't going to watch the Beast video until this was done, but then @1:59:00 you told me to, so that is what I did. Doing that, added way more context to what you were saying here. The best laugh was when you realized you sent everyone to watch the video and that they might not like it..... The final cut was fantastic. Your hard work comes through in these videos, no doubt, ever. Great work and as always keep on keeping on. You're awesome BRU!
This has been the only time in history where I’m letting adds run the full duration. I don’t even know if this makes a difference for you but I’m gonna carry on
Woaaah, thank you Dan! Am going to watch this now, now, now!! Edit: I just finished and this must be the best bts/tutorial I have ever watched!! Thanks for all the hard work you put into it and into beast philanthropy to help the causes. That you are keeping in touch with your community through pieces like that - even after all your success - is absolutely appreciated! And yes, get those BRU bars to Europe. If this was an ad - it worked ;-) :-)) Am backing up my SanDisk-drives now ....!
To handle all the workload that comes with Beast Philanthropy is one thing, but to stay committed to the craft whilst educating hundreds of thousands of others and not missing a beat simultaneously is something I've never seen done before. Incredibly grateful for you, Dan.
I was looking for a video just like this but for Movies or Tv-Shows, but a Mr. Beast Production is several orders of magnitudes bigger then your average Hollywood production so thanks Dan!
I subscribe to about 150 channels, and Dan, you're the ONLY ONE I turn on the notification bell for. The DOUBLE the work you put in on this one, to explain the process as you go (I'm sure was an interesting exercise to mastering your own process and growing techniques) and all your days and days of hard work is NOT lost on SO many of us in the same field. Fascinating and an inspiration to watch, and worth watching again over time is the even better part. Beyond appreciated! You're awesome Bru!

Hey there! It's amazing, and you're the best at teaching this. This was super engaging and outstanding. You are a pro in this field, and I've always wanted to learn this from someone like you. I am eager to learn more things from you, as this was one of the best experiences in my life. Thanks a million, Dan, for providing this for free!
Absolutely phenomenal Dan!! I’ve been lucky enough to see your journey first-hand and how much of yourself you put into everything you do and the sacrifices that you have had to make. So incredibly proud of you.
I'm the biggest fan and as 19 year old . I started my self improvement journey and recording it with a 100 dollar phone camera .. so just have a look and sugget me if it's good .
Literally watch it all at one goal. Thanks for the whole process explanation, always a big fan of you Dan! Storytelling bigger than everything 🙌🏻 Blessing from Malaysia!
Bru u are a true goosebumbgenerator! This was such a great journey :) also that take on reading a book a week within the time i bindgewatch not even in a week but a couple days is strong!

Increíble tu aporte, hermano Dan. Espero algún día poder tenerte en Bolivia para compartir tu experiencia con jóvenes indígenas cineastas de mi patria. Saludos!!!!
Great film Dan, I appreciate the effort it took to creat a video of how to make a video. Great to see you plugging your product too (BRU Bar). Watched all the way through and to the end 👍🏼
Thank you so much for the tutorial and the incredible incite into making a short film documentary. I would love to be a filmmaker like you in the future, and i look up to the work you do with admiration. Thank you.
Dan just wanted to say, as someone who lived in south africa for 17 years growing up. Thank you for being part of something wonderful. You inspire me to tell my stories.
Dude you could've not posted this at a more perfect time for me. I'm in the process of filming a mega series where I travel to 30 cities in 30 days in Asia and I definitely made time during my crazy itinerary these past few days to watch every bit of this. Thank you so much for working so hard to advance content creation on this platform. You deserve everything coming your way Dan!
Dan thank you for the countless lessons. How did you make such an amazing story ABOUT a story?! I watched the full nearly 3 hours in one sitting taking notes the whole time. You turned countless unknown unknowns into known unknowns for me; I have a ton of work to do. Thank you for inspiring me. Your art, kindness, and grit are what makes the internet and RU-vid such a beautiful and symbiotic place. Cheers Bru
I am so happy for finding this video on youtube, I learned many things because of this. Definitely it will improve my future film making. Thanks Dan mace for this great effort for making this Video. 🥳🥳
5 days man it took to watch step by step I also written it the point is I want to make minecraft storytelling content age 17 in india so currently goona pursue engineerring .
This masterpiece does not have nearly enough views for what it's worth, Dan's passion for filmmaking can be felt throughout the entirety of this video and it is truly inspiring. If you are reading this; know that YOU have inspired us. I've lived without a dream for long and yet today I feel a fire burning, I know now that there's nothing I need more in life than to bring people together and that because of this my view of the impossible has broadened; I now see my dream as certainty, foretold, and I am grateful to you for being a step in my change. I have little to none experience but when I make it I'll come back here to thank you again.
I have never finished a 2hr tutorial before in my life because I just lack patience, but Dan made it so easy and I have never been inspired more to work on my craft.
I AM IN TEARS! This video came to me in a complete moment of serendipity. I was all fired up to start my channel on YT and Insta, but didn't know where to start. I was thinking of learning some video editing software to begin with(now I laugh at that thought). And then, I came across a reel on Insta where the guy said "Dan Mace should name this video from mastering the art of filmmaking to mastering the art of content creation." And boy was he right. I watched this video in 3 days, took 10 pages of notes, and learned more than I ever thought I could. Thank you for sharing this knowledge that will help people like me who want to begin filmmaking but don't have the know-how. It has given me clarity on my content creation journey. You are truly an amazing person. I hope I will work with you one day. Godspeed!
You have outlined my thoughts better than I would. This video right here is a GOLD MINE. As someone who had failed once at RU-vid, I am super thankful to have this guide now. I call this - the Holy Grail of content creation.
@@Drastic644 CGI is a broad term that is technically all encompassing. Parts of this image look very obviously generative AI to me - As a artist with experience in both generative AI, video editing, & VFX. I'd say with almost 100% certainty its generative AI and a bit of Photoshop kit-bashing other photos together. But, regardless of how its achieved, it's fake.
it’s Ai in photoshop actually :) there’s no scandal here haha. nothing to ‘uncover’ you are filmmakers - it’s so obviously fake. overly so. the hospital wasn’t filmed prior our arrival, so when we arrived the build was like half way done. The hospital was actually in ruins before the restoration began - because it was so remote we had nowhere to source imagery from. but u can see on google earth what it looked like more or less. like a few poles. Jimmy says ‘a few months ago’. besides the video and beast philanthropy’s contribution isn’t about the completion of the hospital. it’s about powering the hospital along with ‘give power’ the org. We also did a bunch of other stuff. this is in no way ‘faking a video’. the other stuff that’s claimed to be ‘fake’ is warp stabilised distortion. i get that not everyone is a filmmaker but i mean come on guys haha.
Thank you. What a privilege to see you at work. So much. Creativity, care, and an enthusiasm for the process of filmmaking. Instructive. And inspiring.
I love oportunities like this, I've been having a huge hunger to learn more about stoytelling, sound design and meshing all kinds of different scenes toghether. Thank you for your time and dedication for this video, it was awesome!
Watched everything from start to finish. Amazing work and amazing how you shared all that. I found some important information that I can use in our dance tutorials. It's now way near as complex as actual film making, but we hope that what you shared with us it's gonna push us to the next level. THANK YOU !
Thank you Dan for this inspiring video, it encouraged me to think deeper about the process of making a video and brought me back to the old-school way of carrying a traditional notebook with me where I write my thoughts, ideas and keep all the notes I took from this 3 hour journey with you!
I am highly grateful that there is someone like yourself that’s takes the time and teaches someone like myself about editing and the process, that quote you said about if you want to master something teach it. If I could I would love to talk with you on a zoom call for like 5 mins.
The video is AWESOME!!!! When I wrote down the tricks and lifehacks in my how-to book, I had 50+ pages! It's almost like a book) Thank you very much Dan♥♥♥♥
