My instructor wants me to do a double 45, positioned on the silk side instead of the pole. Would this same thing be applied there? My flag keeps flying to the left of me and its beginning to frustrate me 😅

Hey the same principles can be applied. However if your flag keeps going too much to the left then you might be releasing it too late. Try slo mo video taping to see the release point is, you might need to think more up. Also check your weights to see if they are correct, too heavy will make the top spin more.

Every time I toss the flag keeps hitting me either in the back of the head or hitting my arm that’s up

It sounds like when you release the flag you are pushing it behind your head instead of in front of you. Make sure your right hand is at a 45 degree angle and your left hand is behind your head/ponytail, WHILE pushing forward. That way the pole is away from your body at a slope so the flag cannot hit you.

You can do it. Take a break maybe sleep on it, and the next day try it again. It takes practice, patience, and attention to the pathway of the pole.

Hi Victoria I know can be a challenge to release the flag but think of launching it forward rather than behind or directly over your head. This way you can always see the flag and avoid it hitting you.
