In this video I will go over the confusing instructions that are frequently included with the Tyvek paper when you buy it. The instructions are difficult to understand and many people apply a rectangle to the bellows and cut off the excess. If you are able to shape it before gluing, the end product comes out looking nicer and you can have sharp folds where you need them.

lol, I shouldn't of watched this in the morning. My head hurts now, lol. All that math, yet sometimes you need it. For any sound coming from the whistle box, 99%of the sound comes from little board where the air comes out. There is a little reed under the board that can get things stuck on it, or maybe a fungus started to grow on it as well. Most the time the little board came loose and just needs to be glued back on and test the sound as you are working. The lower part of the whistle box is just a sound chamber. I work on the clocks to get them back running to just help others get their clocks going again, plain and simple. On this video, you went a step further to show your audience how to make your clock more original. Great Job on the video.

Sorry about your head. Maybe I should post a disclaimer that this video requires premedication with Tylenol! ;) Anyway, the leather was ok I guess. I bought it to go on the antique trapezoid bellows in my railroad clocks. But I did them in Tyvek back when I first got them, so this leather was for whatever random clock needs it. I think the Tyvek is easier to work with and gets a memory faster. I clamped this for 6 hours and it still wants to stay open some. I've got a clamp on it againfor a day or two to see if that helps.

A good how to do video. To suggestions always recover both bellows. To help set the crease in the bellows squeeze the bellows, in a smooth jaw vise. it must be understood that everyone’s skills are a little different and that is OK as long as everybody comes up with the same end product. Enjoyed the video and good luck to you with future videos.

Great tips! It's my first time with the leather. I'll clamp it in a vise next time. I've got a clip on it again now just to see if I can make it stay closed better, since it's already in the clock. I have always done both bellows before. I only did one this time since it was ripped from falling off the wall. Thanks for watching!

When I first started doing bellows i tried to read those instructions and they were confusing as crap so that is why I do what I do which is so much faster than doing all of that. However you did a great job in explaining those instructions. My bellow paper that I order from ebay is 8" long by 3" wide. I cut it in half so it is 8" long by 1.5" wide. Works for every thing. Even the trapezoid bellows. Again the instructions that you have shown simply makes it easier than their instructions. So great job. Making the bellow paper look like that does cut out on trimming the excess off but if for whatever reason you screwed up in all that then you just wasted some bellow paper. I ordered material from timesavers one time. Never again. I dont like the way that they fold it so that is why I order from ebay. 20 sheets to include shipping cost around $25. Which when cut in half is enough to do 20 pair of bellows. Now what they could do with the bellows is sell reusable wooden/metal templates that you can draw on the tyvek/leather/whatever for different size bellows. However doing the bellows the way I do bellows there is no need for those templates. Great video for beginners. I also use superglue because when I am doing bellows I want to do them as quickly as possible. Where some people with antique bellows want to use fish glue/hide glue/whatever. My first bellow I tried contact cement and I didnt like the wait. I love the card idea for the gap. But your finished product is more professional than my finished product. Keep these videos coming. Cuckoo clocks can be a pain in the ass and make you coo coo. That is why they call them cuckoo clocks. You have plenty of patience if you didnt then you wouldnt be able to train dogs. You will ge this sorted out. Thanks for the shout out.

@@munnerlyn3 I've probably read them 15 times and they are still confusing. I think I'm going to post some new ones that are simple.

Ya, you gotta be carful. It's a lot to ask of one little nail... Thanks for sharing the bellows tutorial.

@@whitneykovener the nail was fine. Our walls are wood. But I was hammering a nail near it to hang another clock and the vibration bounced it off the head of the nail. I was mad at myself for not taking it down first!
