Motor speed meter, hall sensor & oscilloscope Hack
In this video we show you how you can measure any motor rotational speed
using hall sensor and oscilloscope
here we have used permanent magnet, a magnet attached to a rotor,the speed of a magnet is equal to rotor magnet, Hall sensor help us to sens the presence of magnet when it is brought closer to hall sensor vicinity
hall sensor converts magnetic field into voltage, as a rotor rotates hall sensor outputs voltage pulses which frequency is equal to how many times a magnet passes near a hall sensor.
We also used digital handheld oscilloscope to detect and measure frequency of those pulses,frequency displayed is equal to revolution of the motor rotor per second
Here displayed frequency is 24 Hz means 24 revolution per second, which is equal to 1440 revolution per minute (Rpm).
