Where can I get the tools to check rollers on dozers from d6 to d11 cats I wanna start doing it cause everyone at work just guesses life left on stuff I wanna be up to dealer specs
those sprockets were toast.i seldom see them this sharp,so it was good he found a machine with this.BUT I KNOW ITS HARD TO FIND THESE MAGIC CHARTS HE IS TALKING ABOUT.I had to make 5 calls to cat dealer to finally get someone to tell me my rail height needs to be 5 inches and 39 thosanths..i use a straight edge and tape..and anything more than a quarter short is about 30 % left.the roundness of bushings by feel is real important but i have no way to compare to new.as for rollers,I never know unless they pin bosses are being rubbed raw..I hate to have cat come out for an undercarraige look...it cant be free...cat like deere is higher priced than you can imagine.they wanted 50 dollar minimum freight on a 4 inch diameter o ring that i couokdnt get anyplace else...thats customer abuse! I needed a circuit breaker from a homda dealer a couple years ago and they had a close living employee bring it after work!it was 8 dollars and they wouldnt make me put it on a credit card!......but cat is a money grubber outfit today.....
Increased tension on certain points in the track chain will cause excessive friction causing increased wear kinda stupid honestly on a machine that will be backing up almost as much as going forward, that’s why most newer dozers have high final drive to stop the stresses on the track chain in certain points
Audio is Horrible!! , need a little more light and some closer shots underneath the track areas it is too dark and cannot see clearly what and where measurements are are being made, Track topside is good though, overall good information!!
What about barrel extension for rail length no good to turn bushings on a stretched rail unless you smash a link out. But that’s not being money smart with the cost of labour versus hours gained pulling links and turning bushings isn’t cost effective
