I'm honestly not in a financial position yet to actually buy, but I so appreciate your explaining all of this so clearly, including the murkiest facts about sizes. I never had any idea how to measure correctly, but, when I feel able to start this journey, I will revisit this video for a refresher and feel so much more confident about how to measure! Your sweet demeanor is also so reassuring to someone like me who is overwhelmed and has few resources! Thank you!❤
I am new to wigs and have to shop for one because my hair has thinned out drastically. My first concern was how to determine my size, but after watching your video I certainly learned a lot. I’ve watched other videos and yours is the best. You explained everything so clearly & thoroughly, and I cannot thank you enough. Since this will be my first purchase for a wig I was wondering if the first wig I order still does not fit properly do you know if one can return it or exchange it? Grateful for your response. Also. I may come back with more questions later. Thanks in advance.
Such an informative video, thank you so much! I’ve been wearing toppers for the past 3 years and just venturing into the wig world. Ordered my first one this summer! It’s not a perfect fit, however I’m making it work. Now that I have this information, I will be able to make a better choice on the next one!
You are my new find and I just ordered 3 BT wigs and can’t wait for them to get here! And now I saw your video with the RW Well Played and I’m in full covet mode! Oh my. I love your videos! Your sales are awesome too! I’m a fan!
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for this clear explanation. I have my consultation with you tomorrow morning and I'm so happy to premeasure tonight after watching this video. thank you!
This is a great video that I love to recommend to new wig wearers to help them avoid all the frustration that I had. Thank you for taking the time to share your "wig wisdom" and experience.
So very helpful! Thank you. My measurements are the same as you. I've tended to buy average, but have sound some brands fit more like a large. Wig Pro average fits perfectly, but they don't make many wigs.
I haven't been wearing wigs for long and I'm finding that like jeans, size is relative according to the brand and style, it doesn't help that I have a weird shaped head 😂. That's why reviews are fantastic because the content creator usually talks about fit, which is what you do - your reviews are fantastic! ❤
I love your videos.❤❤❤I am learning so much...my problem is front to back .... everything thing else is average. I feel like I am always pulling my wig down even with a gripper. I am now learning to get an wig with extended nape or at least 2 1/4 inches. I like short wigs because I have a small face. ❤❤❤❤ your videos.
Amanda, thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial on measuring! I have measured and I'm all over the board!!! Circumference- 22" (average/large), Ear to Ear- 14" (average/petite), Front to Nape- 14" (large). Help! What size do you recommend?
@@JillSchmidt-hi6uf I would go for an average! And you could also fit some average/large brands. Brands that could work for you would be Raquel Welch, Belle Tress, Estetica, Jon Renau, Gabor. I would stay away from Noriko and Ellen Wille may be tricky to fit, especially their hand tied caps❤️
I just purchased a RW Simmer elite(first ever wig) from Chiquel and it’s a little small. My circumference is 22 1/2 inch and 13 inch ear to ear. Do you think the regular RW wig would fit as I’ve heard they fit a little bigger or do I need to find a large wig? The reviews and info you provide is so helpful. I’d be lost without the wig community on RU-vid.
Thank you for the information. This information is very helpful and informative you explain things so clearly. I started following you on instagram about 6 months ago and now tomorrow I am scheduled for my first zoom web call with a rep for more help to get me on the right track so I can make my first purchase! Very nervous and excited but watching your videos have helped me gain some confidence...thank you!!!.
Thank you so much for sharing!! I hope your zoom call goes well! I know it’s daunting but once you get into it, it’s so fun!!❤️❤️ glad to hear my videos have helped!!
Thank you for all this info! Super helpful! I have a question, though, about measuring. It seems to me that if one is measuring a bald head as apposed to one with hair, the measurements might be different. Also, if one HAS hair should it be put up for the circumference part of the measurement? I still have some hair at the nape, and less everywhere else.
Each head will have different measurements whether they have hair or not. You should secure your hair as you would wear it under a wig and then measure. 😊
Hi Amanda: It’s me again! Need your expert advice. My measurements are as follows: Circumference : 22” Ear to Ear: 13.5 Front to back: 13 They don’t exactly match the measurements you provided. So, what do you recommend, should I go for average or large? Please let me know ASAP. Thank you in advance.
Thanks for getting back to me. It’s strange my first comment disappeared but not my second. I also tried to click on ‘Reply” button but it didn’t work - thus am writing it here. In any case, I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful & detailed video which is extremely helpful. While on the subject, I learned that the Milano non-slip wigGrip band (glueless) is excellent . Does that mean you definitely would not need to add any more glue whenever u wear a wig grip band? Second, if I purchase a wig after taking the right measurements and I still have problem fitting on my head, would you know if suppliers would return or exchange the wig? Grateful for your response to my two questions since you are very informative and resourceful. Thanks in advance.
Hey there! Correct, if you use a wig grip, you should not need to use any sort of glue. And I can only speak for Chiquel Wigs, and yes, you can return a wig that doesn’t work for you. 😊
Thank you for showing how to measure. It's hard to get a proper measurement from looking at photos of how to. I've been wearing wigs for several years and now I know how to measure properly.
Further to my earlier message. Sometimes my ear to ear measures 13 & sometimes 13.5. Just factor this in when you provide your recommendation, along with rest of measurements I provided, as to which size I should go for please.
I am 21 1/2 cir. 12 or 12 1/4 front to back ear to ear 11 1/4 any suggestions ? I guess Ellen Wille from what you said. I like Narano in middle gray shaded. Anything else I can check out let me know. Thanks Judy
which brands are a true average or average large? I am noticing Raquels wigs are small on me just in the ear coverage area so they fall like a bit above my ear so hair shows....seeing if another brand might give me more coverage there
My circumference is 22 to 22.5; my hairline to nape is 11.5, and my ear to ear is 11. So I think my circumference is average to large, but the rest is petite. I am new to wigs, although I have a topper that I love. I would like to have actual wigs. Thanks.
