My head circumference is 21 3/4. Ear to ear is 12 1/2 and front to back is 11. Can I wear the smaller caps ? Or more average. Trying to determine which brand I should avoid. I also am beginning to see less of a difference in the roots in the rooted wigs. Ie. Not so dark. Great improvement I think !!
kk doc Your measurements are pretty average. There can also be a variance in cap size among styles of the same brand. You should be fine with most brands. Estetica caps run large..some Tony Of Beverly also. Hope this helps!

Gale Taylor Hi Gale! I would put some water on your fingertips and gently run it along the cap where you applied the It Stays. It will come off easily. Try not to get it in your bio hair as it may pull on the hair upon removal. In cases where I use It Stays, I remove it without using water.. I can get a second use from it that. Hope all is coming along well with you and yours this season❤️ I am new to tackling my alopecia with wigs and have spent WAAAY MORE TIME than is probably necessary going back and forth/stewing and worrying over all of Amazon’s choices of the different brands and varieties of “IT STAYS” type products available to purchase. The prices range from about $7 - $25 per bottle and some are for holding up medical devices and compression socks and only one offhandedly mentioned very briefly as a last afterthought something about could be used also for a wig, at the end of a long list of it’s primary uses. (Yet, it gave me pause as to whether I wanted to REALLY take a chance on it because within the first couple sentences of it’s description there were misspellings and grammatical errors.) I believe there might have been only 1 product that touted the use for theatrics, that included wigs and troupes BUT that one may have been the $25 one. ANY way... I am SOOO CONFUSED AT THIS POINT, that I NEED YOUR HELP BIGTIME!! Would you PLEEEASE HELP me? Could you by any chance leave me a link to the EXACT BOTTLE of the EXACT PRODUCT?(SINGLE BOTTLE please? bc some of them are sold in 3pk, 6pk, or 12 pks) PLZ PLZ PLZ. Gosh, I wish I’d known this. I didn’t measure, just bought average, I’m learning so much. I saw you sell yours sometimes. I must look and see if it’s worth buying wigs in the US when I’m in uk. Being on a limited income now I’m disable sucks at times. The other thing I’m not great with is being confident my wig won’t fall off, my hair is probably much shorter than yours.
I will be starting Chemo this week and I am so upset that I will be losing my hair. I love my hair, it's long thick and highlighted very blonde. I don't have hardly any money but I am going to try to buy a wig. I am so afraid of the journey ahead of me. All I can do is cry.
I'd love to see your top picks for affordable wigs. I just went through a divorce AND I was just diagnosed with a thyroid disorder that caused 50% of my hair to fall out. I'm stressed and in a budget and need to look half way decent, but I can't afford $500 for a synthetic wig that is only going to last a few months. I like looks that are not too short. More of a mid length that touches the collar bones or a bit shorter.

Thank you so much for your videos. I am new to wigs and hair loss. You help make this a positive experience. You mentioned solutions for wearing a wig when your measurement falls outside of average; my front to back measurement is 12.5 and wigs ride up even with a comfort band underneath my wig. Do you have a link to solutions for a flat head in back?
Becky C. Hi Becky! Thank you for the comments and feedback. I don’t have a video for this specific issue... maybe try large size caps and use adhesive to keep it secure at the front..this might help give some slack to the nape area🤗🤗🙋🏼♀️

So I'm wondering, you have all these wigs -- do people at church, PTA, community organizations you belong to or whatever, like how do you explain always wearing different hair? Since you have a medical issue, is that the "reason" you give for wearing wigs? What if someone doesn't have a medical condition but just wants to wear wigs so they don't have to mess with doing their own hair? I'd love to see a video where you discuss this. If someone wants to wear a wig because they don't want to do their hair (no time, such a pain, they are not good at doing their hair, etc.) then do you think they should "tell" people? If they just want to keep it private but then acquaintances are like, "Oh, you got your hair done, it looks so cute!" I mean, do you then just say thanks and pretend? Just wanting to get your thoughts on those things. Thanks!
I love your videos! Very informative. My bio hair is styled very similar to yours. I just purchased a couple different wig styles online and have played with them in the mirror but I have not worn them out of the house yet. I have always had very fine hair and a high hairline( larger forehead) the only way my natural hair looks good on me is very short. I would love to have longer hair just for fun sometimes so that is why I'm going to try wigs. You make it so fun and give confidence to it. I do have a question. It seems you do not wear wig caps underneath the wig. Are those meant to protect your natural hair from rubbing against the wig? My only fear with wearing my wig is that is will damage my bio hair. Any info would be appreciated!
Holly Kincade Hey Holly! I haven’t experienced any damage to my bio hair... I keep it ultra short as you see. Nylon wig caps can be used to secure the bio hair and keep it from escaping. I like the feeling of the wig directly against my head.. I always know if something is off that way. Hope this helps! Have fun, good luck! XOXO

Thank you so much for all of your videos! I’m new to the wig world and hair loss journey, and I have found you to be amazingly informative and helpful!! I have not yet made my first purchase, but plan to do that once I find something that really draws me in and can cater to my specific hair loss situation. I have a widows peak, and it’s becoming very sparse in that area, but definitely noticeable. Do you have any suggestions on what type of wig would be best for something like that? Or how I could try to conceal it once I take the leap and purchase a wig? I would like a lace front monofilament I think. Obviously I would also like one that’s more realistic in nature.. I have long bio hair but not much left in the front hairline, top of head is thinning and so is the crown area. Watching your videos makes me more interested in something mid-length or bob.. You seriously look great in every wig that you wear!!! Thank you for all that you do!! You have such a bright spirit, and are very inspiring!!!
Shellz B Hello! I’m so glad you found this helpful. I hated my widows peak when I first started wearing wigs. I bleached it, shaved and tried hiding it.. nothing seemed to work. The best solution is to embrace it and make it work for you. It shows through the lace front and gives the appearance of a root/regrowth. Wigs don’t have widows peaks so it became an asset that added to the realism. On a non lace front wig, I can pull through the widows peak hair to help obscure the wig line. I now LOVE my widows peak. I've been wondering what style I should get my own hair styled into for ease of wearing wigs. As it is it's a blunt Bob but thin and frizzy. I blame the menopause and age. Even when its freshly coloured and styled it lacks volume and body . Anyway . My minds made up since I found you on here. I'm getting Crowd Pleaser in Shaded Biscuit. This was exactly the video I was looking for Awesome thank you ! I have one Lace front open cap Jon Renew and the lace front is soooooo scratchy that I can't put it near my forehead without using my own bang ! Is there anything to cover that so it's not so scratchy?
Proud Nana Hello! Some people are just more sensitive to it. I wonder if it’s just that one or all lace fronts that give you trouble. I don’t have trouble with scratch lace fronts so I can’t be sure. I know that Jon Renaus lace fronts are very sturdy as they are welded lace to prevent tearing and more natural appearance . The downside is that they’re a bit thicker and rougher than some. Ellen Wille and Belle Madame have soft fine lace fronts. Wearing a wig grip may help. Also using lace tape might reduce friction against the skin and might be an option. Hope this helps! XOXO

Tax I love you so but I think you need some Toner on you blonde hair to make it more soft looking and a blonde, not so rusty dirty blonde it looks like bright yellow rt now , I am not sure if that is what you were looking for, if we're ok
For circumferences of less than 20.5" inches, you MAY need to customize the caps to make them look natural and feel secure.. most wigs are made for a 22" circumference and can be adjusted about 1/2" up or down:-)
