Thanks for this video! These are good tips, I hope to make some friends at the skate park soon. It’s hard not to feel self conscious - especially when everyone is better than me, but I’m doing my best!

Thanks for another great skate video. I'm 1x year in. Getting a bit more confident on quads, still a ton to learn. Mostly skate around my kitchen with my son, in a timber floor hall i have access to and in my city park that has nice surfaces. I'll call to my local skate shop next time I am in town. Great idea. It is mostly skateboard stuff, so that why i didn't go in before.

Thanks for this video !! I've been trying to figure out where the pockets are in my city for skaters cause I know how much more fun having skate buddies could make it. I'm still learning but hopefully I can check out some skate shops, parks, and rinks :) i wish summer would hurry up lol

any teen roller skaters here in South Florida? I've been trying to make new roller buddies but I'm 14 so I can't drive or go anywhere by myself so that kind of limits things lol

I've met some people at the skatepark but not roller skates 😔. But I have seen people roller skate around the place so I'm sure I'll meet someone this year.

I am so glad I came across your channel a while back. Your videos are so helpful and have been a huge part of my skate journey ✨ I live in a pretty rural area and even though I'm super social I've not spent much time at skate parks or rinks and going to Asheville to find other skaters has been super intimidating to me for some reason.

I recently moved from CA to TN, and I found a group of skaters on the Meetups app. Went to my first skate park! Wow - there a learning curve on balance- especially going up curved ramps (for me). I have 3 roller rinks within 7.5 miles of my house here! In CA I had one within 25 miles. I'm nervous about going though- I've never been to a rink -

I honestly get nervous about going to the rink too! I'm not a dance/rythmn skater myself, it's not my style. I'd recommend just going to your local rink and checking it out- if you're not feeling it, it's too crowded or you don't feel comfortable or whatever the reason is- you can leave. It's an easy way to take back your power over your experiences. You can also look online to see pictures to get an idea of if it seems like a place you want to go skate at (like checking out a gym). Also!! I moved to Washington state from TN. I lived in Tennessee for three years and I know the area really well, so if you need any tips/help with local rinks or places to skate, I'm familiar with Chattanooga, Knoxville, Nashville, and Memphis! As for the learning curve with ramps- that's so true (and normal) and it gets better with practice! Keep showing up, keep skating because you'll improve, and hopefully you've found a good community that will encourage you where you're at.
