The first Melodic Dubstep track I heard was "Days To Come (feat. Fiora)" by Seven Lions. I listened to it all day, it was the end of 2012 and this track is also one of the reasons why I started making music :)

Protip: when you layer drums, especially snares, dont layer more than 1 that has a body. it makes it lose all of its transient and punch. just one main snare with a tonal body is suffice. you can layer more high ends or tails but not bodies.
