Hello! I'm making a long one with all the brick, but I was going to cover the walls making a paste with water green silicon carbide powder. (Some people said that it is better than the black powder.) This way was a surprise for me, just putting the powder! Because I thought, that paper glass and cristal, could no touch the green silicon carbide powder, and also, it had to be covering like in a hard material around the walls of the kiln. It is cool knowing that it existed, what an easier way!! 🤩👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🥳. I use alumina bricks, the ones for chimneys or clay rustic kiln ovens. I imagine.. that U can also make curved shapes pushing the paper down I little bit.. 🤔😊✨ if I try I will tell U. Maybe U can try too. 😉. One last thing i'm been looking for is what kind of glue for sticking parts together is the best...? Can U help me please 🙏🏽💚 Regards from Costa Blanca Spain. 🌅 green silicon carbide
That is cool. I actually have 2 microwave kilns I bought though and I love them. :D The first one was not too expensive using the hobby lobby 40% off coupon and it was a whole kit with tools, glass, safety gloves etc.. :D - Heidi
wow.. thanks for sharing this .. do u keep a microwave just for glass ? i wonder if it would be safe to use my kitchen 1200 watt that we use for food only so far. (If i may make some friendly suggestions --it would be nice if you slowed down the filming to show the creation at the end.. and less of that eyeball cartoon logo . it's a bit distracting and jarring..also music that is not as stressful for the whole time. i hope i am not coming off as being ruder --it's just like your content and would like to watch your tuts with more pleasure )
I would not use the microwave for food after using it for glass fusing. I bought a microwave just for glass fusing which worked out fine as I don't use one for cooking food anyway. :)
Thanks for your feedback. I think that you can use the microwave then to eat - nothing bad happens when you're melting glass.Sometimes I can abuse this logo - theft protection. Music .. turn off ;-)
@@SmartBeast Actually there are microscopic dust particles and fumes off gassed when fusing glass in a microwave kiln. All research I have done has suggested not to use the same microwave for glass fusing as you do for food. :)
I've tried, is ok it work's, "but be very careful" the house made kiln, is to tall. So, too close to the ceiling, this heat too much the ceiling, and burns away the paint cover the microwave 😉 so I stopped the process when I realised! An is not too much damage, just I little bit. (But.. Because I stopped the process ;)
