Glad to be your 600th subscriber. This is great, all I got the VLC player for at this point was to do this so I could put up a clip real for my game on google play.
in my situation, the combine process is fine, but the final result is not good. there are some part in the video is missing. like it auto cut some part of the video.
If you're getting the "your input can't be opened" error, put the full location of the files in quotation marks. Instead of 1.mp4, put "C:\Users\Benjamin\Desktop\New folder\1.mp4" Do this for all files you're trying to combine. It will spit out the file in your C:\Users\Benjamin folder.
it only merged audio (the video stays the same frame after the 1st video ends) and i had to change the script to: "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" 1.mp4 2.mp4 3.mp4 --sout "#gather:std{access=file,dst=file.mp4}" --sout-keep how can i get it to merge all the videos properly?
Hi, thanks used this once and it worked, had to do again, and got this error message. Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL 'file:///C:/Users/megaf/Desktop/delete%20it/video1.mp4'. Check the log for details. Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL 'file:///C:/Users/megaf/Desktop/delete%20it/video2.mp4'. Check the log for details. what did I do wrong?

Bro vlc is bad option for merging videos, if u have windows 10 .. windows 10 have build in video editor .... search video editor in windows 10 .. if u have
@@TheBylkAAA Bro check again cause the video editor is build in windows 10 , use windows 10 search bar ... or u can use OpenShot software lightweight free software.... just drag and drop and merge .
in your video when you open the notepad it comes up with that vlc location file automatically. when i open mine its blank. how do i get that to come up on note pad?
Thanks for your help! One issue: after merging the two files using your directions, the second part of the merged file has no sound. How do I address this? Thanks in advance!
Have searched lots of tutorials which don't tell the last step (the code part), finally this video shows! But it's a bit troublesome to use VLC to merge videos. Trying to find easier ways...
@@Himel356 THX. I just found two freeware programs that can do this with no effort: Windows Movie Maker (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e7WsddC4oJM.html) and Gihosoft Free Video Cutter (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8pbiVhBjPZ0.html ).
If you have merged a file into mp4 or mpeg format, use Windows Media Player and if merged into mkv format, use VLC player or GOM player shown in the video
Need your help please After the pasting the text from notepad in the CMD...... It is showing access' is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file Can you please resolve this? Thanks in advance
this is insane. I used to merge files 10 years ago by just selecting and renaming, to do it in vlc is a colosal waste of time but thanks for the effort
@@vikrambhar4443 it was many years ago but it was a small, simple program that after selecting the files to merge, just asked you to rename the merged new file and it was all. To me this new complicated thing is to slave you with online services . Again, something that worked before is exchanged with a sea of problems
@@vikrambhar4443 its clear the program im referring to MERGE the files, just asked of you to put it in order, the renaming aspect is to identify the new merged file
@@harlhequim I have 40 minutes of video in mp4 format in 1280 by 720p that is one continuos file, but I can't remember how I did it. It was created 2 years ago, and I forgot how I did it. The original video was mov format. I can't remember anything about how I did it. These 40 minute files are 570mb instead of 6gb. I did not use handbrake, I know because I just downloaded it.
Failed - 1. Converted three source files via VLAN GUI x64 bit, 2. merged three converted files using VLAN x64 bit via your command line, 3. Result = no video but has audio - i did three files Success - 1. merged three source files using VLAN x64 bit via your command line, 2. Result = Plays great but file is the total MB as all three source files Question - 1. how can we lower the file size without risking quality?
I combined 5 files that were around 8 MB each but The combined file came out at a whopping 1.67 GB. The only difference being all the files and the final file are file type MPG. Anyway I can fix this without converting to MP4?
Does this affect the quality of the videos you merge. I've read somewhere online that there's a way to combine files and choose the output quality when using the cmd. You know what I mean? Also, how many clips can you join at once? Just two clips or more at the same time?
After doing this I found just icon of merged file of 4kb. There is no data in the file. Would you please help and solve my problem. "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" 1.mp4 2.mp4 --sout "#gather:std{access=file,dst=ok.mp4}" --sout-keep
Sorry bro , vlc is not really for this but if u are using window 10 and 11 , windows 10 have build in Video editor. just drag and drop easy... try to use that ..ty
Save the file in .CMD format, and you save opening the (CMD), but when you want to put more than two files, you will have to edit this .cmd, and indicate how many files you want. "Good video, thanks"
@@taranshah4263 Do you see the text file you created with the Notepad? Now you save it, like: Type: All files * Coding: ANSI Extension: The_name_you_want.cmd (The only problem is that it limits you to the 2 files you are calling: 1.mp4 2.mp4) If you can substitute the call to those two files, for an extension search (I don't know what the command would be). you could do it with files with different names, you wouldn't be limited to (1.mp4 etc etc)
I got this Error Message: "C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe"Blue1.mp4Blue2.mp4Blue3.mp4Blue4.mp4' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
bro its on video description , suggestion : if u have recent photoshop u can edit video on it or u can use Openshot free software .. no add plus easy to use . VLC is not for this kind of works

Is there a max length or size on this? I combined 2 5+min videos. When I try to play the final file it shows over 10 min of video available and proceeds through the time, but there isnt any video (file did not contain audio so idk if that would work or not)
nevermind. my files were corrupted somewhere along the way. i had to restore older versions of them that i verified worked. then tried this again and it worked perfectly. Thanks!
If you have 100 files to merge, do you need to type 100 names such as....vlc_location 1.mp4 2.mp4 3.mp4 4.mp4 5.mp4 6.mp4 (etc etc) --sout "#gather:std{access=file,dst=final_file_name.mp4}" --sout-keep. Please HELP.
Hi thank you for the info I did everything correct got the final file but can't play it i get this message This file isn't playable. That might be because the file type is unsupported, the file extension is incorrect, or the file is corrupt. 0xc10100be can you help?
Combining files take some time , if you close vlc player before the file conversion done .. it become corrupted and ya try to look after the file name..
@Ali BuTT Openshot is enough , when u drag and drop your video for edit , it separate video and audio in 2 track so u can edit sound and video separately and u can use FreeMusicWave and Damon Empero channel for free english song with lyrics ( no copyright problem )
hey when i go to my cmd and past is in it sayed this nput cannot be opened: VLC cannot open MRL 'file: /// E: /frag%20moment/1c.mp4'. Check the log for details. Can u maby help me
I find this video useful. I also have some remarks: If I join 2 files works fine. If I join 3 or more the image becomes blurry after the transition of every joined file. If I join 2 files, then I join the resulted file with a 3rd file, every transition is plagued by blurriness (it remembers that there were 3 files). The files are "Video for MPEG4 1080p TV/device" format. (I need this quality.) Do you know a reason why it behaves like that and what can be done to avoid it? Thanks!
make sure to put quotes around paths and filenames with spaces. example if a video file is named Bobs Awesome Video.mp4 change the commandline to "Bobs Awesome Video.mp4"
