How to mic a church choir. 

Here's my preferred method for mic ing a worship choir. The key is a combination of section leaders on handheld mic's and overhead mic's for the SATB sections. In this case there are 4 AKG 214's on the choir, and 9 Sennheiser EW 500's on the section leaders. (3 Soprano, 3 Alto, 3 Tenor) The lead singer is also on a Sennheiser EW 500. The rhythm section is on the stage but just of camera and this was all recorded live.
