Thank you very much, it really helped me a lot. Currently I had problems with a hosting provider and my users were affected. With this solution I can make the migration without problem.
This is a valid concern. I suggest to read their Term of Service. You can also use the IMAPSYNC scripts from your own server and in that case you don't need to worry about the privacy. Thank you.
Very helpful. Thank you. I have a question. I need to migrate email contents across 2 different servers. The source server is live, meaning DNS is already pointed and working. Now I want to migrate the same email to the destination server of the same domain which hasn't pointed on DNS to the new server. So, before DNS migration can IMAPsync is able to copy mails from source (DNS active) to destination server (DNS hasn't pointed yet)?
yes, you can migrate regardless of where your MX is pointing to. You just need mailboxes exist in the target server, even if they are not active or receiving emails. Thank you.
Hi sir , I need one doubt we are using one mail server but using 3 domains , 2 domains is very fast working but 1 domain is very slow , any idea for this issue resolving..
uhmmm, many variables when migrating emails like number and size of emails and attachments, number of folders, load on servers (source and target), etc. Not easy to say :(
Hi Goldino, the idea behind backing up your email is basically copying your emails in another email account and you can do this with impasync. You can also copy the emails to a non-active email account in any server that support IMAP. Thank you.
Hi Roger, that is a good questions. It is not easy to respond it. I just can say that have use it multiple times and I have never had an issue. I also know that some hosting provider use it as well. Here is some additional information about the security of IMAPSync as a reference: imapsync.lamiral.info/FAQ.d/FAQ.Security.txt Thank you!
Hello Marc, your concern is completely valid. I am afraid and not able to answer this question. I suggest to contact support at IMAPSync in the website that I shared in the video. Thank you!
Hi Olaide, you need to make sure that both servers are accessible from Internet. Also, verify that servers names and/or IP addresses, and email passwords are correct. I suggest to check the logs and determine the cause of the issue. Thank you.
If transferring to the same address do you need to have the domain pointing to the new server first or can it be done afterwards? What about mx records? Thanks.
