I have a 96 318i. Battery died one day a haven't been able to get the car started no crank no start. I jumped two wires behind the glove box to get it to crank. But it will not turn over. I have one key that has a transponder but that's it. Please Help
Dude you just totally answered my questions tonight for my e36 build I wanted to put the wiring on a minimal scale now i can thanks for the informational video man it’s gonna be in my saved videos
Great video pal! Any expenses with an automatic loom? Basically I got old van in middle of conversion for m42b18 witg GM auto box. Loom has additional 25 pins plug, as well separate ECU for box. Thanks in advance, cheers!
Hey man, you seem pretty handy with the e36 wiring harness. Could you point me in the direction of the coil pack power wire that gives power to all 6 coils? I’m trying to be able to ignition cut for a project I’m trying to do. Thanks in advance!
I didn't ran into any issues but I started my M60B40 with only 2 wires :) I can finally get rid of all those wires under the dash! Thanks man really appreciated!
Struggling with the cluster, could you do like a close up of what wires you need to keep off of the three plugs to have basic function of the cluster. The wiring diagrams I have are not helping the matter at all
Hi, I have a Mitsubshi k74 and I want to put in a VMW M57 engine in it. I would like some advice to do it or purchase an ecu wiring loom to purchase, can you help?
awesome. i have a question. im building a 74 mustang II wit a m50 e36 swop. i have the e36 harness with the plug you showed. i am using my mustangs original cluster and fuse box. i will connect all the corresponding wires to the mustangs harness. ignition, temp, starter (old coil wire), alternater. but where do i connect the tac signal to? also the brown green, brown yellow and brown wires. you said they are for the oil and coolant. which is which?
idk if you will see this but i could use some help on my m50, i am having a hell of a time with fiding where each connector goes from the engine harness to the engine. if anyone can help that would be awesome
Great Info! I didn't see if Pin 21 was connected to GROUND (black clip) or not. I see the starter wire is connected to batt. positive, but I just couldn't catch where the Pin 21 (DME) wire went. I did an auto/manual swap (97 318is) and have been unable to start it for 2 months now. It cranks, but no fuel/spark/injectors. I HAVE changed the CPS. Cheers, Simon
@HussDaddy well did you? Im doing a m50b20 swap into e46 316ti compact. Hell of a job since never made it to USA.but the m50 engines can start on few wires. Do like to know about that wire 21
Hey I’m doing a simplified harness in my e36 and I can’t get the key to turn to unlock the steering column, any help with what I need to plug in for it to work ?
even tho this is an old video, im hoping to get an answer lol, but is there any downside to doing this on a "weekend car" what all basic amenities does this get rid of? i have a e36 that is very aesthetically modded, but drive train doesn't matter as much to me as long as it all works and its enjoyable to drive around town. Im throwing in a new engine and wanna simplify the wiring to make it easier on everything and also some stuff got misplaced and i dont remember some stuff that got taken off or disconnected. Any info or advice please? also do you have to do anything to the ecu or can you keep that 100% stock and still have to keep all the emissions sensors and crap under the intake?
With it wired like this you lose basically every interior comfort. Also the engine is separate then the chassis harness so its not going to help you with the engine replacement. I wouldn't recommend
Having an issue with my 94 325i m50, it’s got a red label 413 and no ews, new crank sensor and new dme delay. It’s got fuel if jumped, starter turns with key on, no spark, any ideas what the issue is ? I wanna figure this out before I cut up my harness and do the simplified one. I cut out the radio and heat/ac wires because the car does not have them. Any help would be much appreciated. I also painted my engine bay
Hi skidlab. I am doing an engine swop on an e36. Fitting a 2,5i from an e34. I have noticed differences in the harness(ecu location etc). Will the main plug wiring be the same as shown here?
One last question regarding this video. I am very interested in using my original cluster with my build. Is there any way u could send me more detail for wiring it up. Cannot see wire colours used for positive and negative connections. I would prefer to use the tacho, speedo, oil pressure, fuel level and charge light. Any extra info u can share would be appreciated
I used either the HiseNook or the MUYI but i did end up having issues with poor connection it could have been user error but the pins sit really loose in the plug and don't always lock in causing loose connections
Jay.S I’m having an red issue I did the same thing he showed in the video and turns over but won’t start (I know the motor runs I drove this same car 2 days prior haha). What brown wire is it?
@@JaySims that would be super helpful I’m dealing with an ews 1 car and I’ve did everything he said and the car stil just cranks and doesn’t start I believe the EWS is preventing it from running
Quick question , so for the harness the 2 wires , you are just applying positive to both ? Basically you could just tie a ignition switch directly to those an it should start right up ?
so my question is how do you wire the dme that is tucked in the firewall on the passenger side into that harness because I believe you need that to drive the car on a safe tune correct?
SKID LAB will this bypass any security and alarm restrictions? I have a customers car I'm working on and its non ews but he has a security system restricting spark and fuel
just provide a list of all things that are not necessary, which you removed and which you left. It's much easier to follow the list then to rewind a video :-)
