You should've told this earlier....6:41..... otherwise I wouldn't have wasted time just to see my device isn't compatible to do all those useful features
apps won't show in my phone link and I'm using a windows 11 and my phone is Nubia red magic 5s NX659J.. Does phone link not support the apps feature on that phone?
Thanks a lot Mam, amazing video. but could i completely remote access my phone's data i.e., documents, files, all stuff with this? Please tell me about that. Also is there any way to access the phone from a laptop or pc completely?
@@philmostert thanks will check it out! It sounds then like other androids, with less integration, is as useless as the iOS integration as described in the video?
The app previously known as "Your Phone" has been rebranded as "Phone Link," and I've successfully installed it. However, I've noticed that while the messaging, calling, and photo options are available, as demonstrated in your video, there appears to be no feature that allows me to use my phone's apps through this application. Can you please guide me as to why this essential feature seems to be missing in my case?
I don't know if you managed to fix it or find it, but so far, what I have seen is that you can only access apps and other features if you own a Samsung Galaxy, Oppo or Oneplus phones..I think Honor too.
Leila Sayeeda, You didn't mention at the start of your video that the number of features for a regular Android smart phone are extremely limited. The most important feature, mirror the phone on the desktop and control every app of the smart phone from the desktop is only -with this "Your phone app" - within reach for Samsung users. You do mention a Samsung device though and '' hopefully in the future more features become available for regular Android devices", not to mention the extreme limitations of the "your phone app" for I-phones used by at least more then half of the smart phone consumers... It would be helpful for viewers of your video also presenting a couple of (open source) alternatives, such as scrcpy (Screen Copy), that is freeware, doesnt require to install an app on the smart phone and gives you full control over the Smart phone from the desktop plus allows you to project multiple smart phone devices on the desktop. Regards,
Leila, this is a tremendously helpful vid! I am going to try this with my work pc and personal Samsung phone! You're turning into my own personal software usage advisor! Thank you so much! You do all this quite well.
Hi Leila, Your way of teaching is very impressive and I leaned lots of tips for my day to day work. Last day my Boss asked me about Phone in computer but actually really didn't know. I searched in Google as well but I couldn't make out. After I watched your video I really surprised and coincidentally I could made out which I want. Thanks Leila. All the best and keep go on.
Thanks for the video. I'd suggest the title of your video to state for Android. While I was typing this reply I did hear you mention that it's basically useless on iPhone (which is what I was going to say; gladly I heard you say it before I finished modifying my comment.
Great vid. I tried to follow your instructions. My Samsung phone is paired with my pc. However, it gives me access to Notifications, Messages, Photos, Calls, but not Apps. How do I fix this?
This is a good app, I have been using it for a while. However, when I speak to others using this app and a headset, the other party complain of an echo
I will buy a laptop acer soon and be more equipped now i got no laptop ...i will be equipped with all ur professional training you are talented ..i will spend more time learning ur tutorials
The big issue with the Microsoft Your Phone app is that it does not work with all Android phones. I attempted to use Microsoft Your Phone app and had no joy at all with it when I found out about it's rather serious limitations. It only works on a very limited number of branded phones. For example, if you have a Pixel phone forget about it, no can do. In addition, if you happen to have a PC with Linux OS or anything other than MS Windows your out of luck. Strike two. Don't waste your time with it. Instead use LetsView app which is vastly superior to Microsoft Your Phone app. It runs on ANY android phone including Apple phones. And doesn't matter what operating system your PC has. Been using LetsView for some time now and it works like a champ and is an absolute joy to use. Watch Kevin Stratvert's excellent step by step explanation on how to install and use LetsView. Just search for "kevin stratvert letsview" on RU-vid. Kevin has 15 years experience as a Microsoft project manager and is an absolute Guru when it comes to all things regarding Microsoft apps.
I can't find that app icon on 'your phone' in my pc and also it's saying ''There are apps on Your PC preventing you from making calls'' while making calls; but Great Video btw 👍
@@mdjihadkazi7671 hey bro, it's solved now ... actually in my case there were some drivers pre-installed from ' dell mobile connect ' , and that's why there was conflict between these two apps So, I uninstalled those drivers ( and 'dell mobile connect' app as well ) and the problem was solved. Make sure you try this and if the problem still remains try these -> support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/troubleshooting-calls-in-the-your-phone-app-1644add0-a51e-ff32-1b55-82b1ecf6b359 troubleshooting steps ... All the best👍
I have been using this function on my new HP Spectre 360 with my old Samsung Galaxy S10+ and now my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Moving files from the phone to the PC, responding to texts, and phone calls has been a productivity boost especially when my phone is charging across the room. Great video as always.
Leila your videos are so productive. Your contents are so strongly built and easy to understand, worth every minute. 👌🏻 Keep creating such contents and make our life easy. ✌🏻
Is it just me or did anyone have to watch this twice? The first time I could not focus on what Ms Gharani was saying, I kept looking for her coffee cup. Being able to link the phone and PC seems to be a great feature.
I remember using an adapter or something years ago to plug a normal keyboard into a phone and use that. This gives you a bigger screen as well though. And looks like there might be fewer cords involved. I don't have anything important on my phone, instead, just using my computer for most things, but this looks like it could be a very good setup for some people.
This is great! I've been looking for this for a long time. Ever since they did away with Samsung i700 and the cradle dock, I've been totally disconnected. Thanks for helping me get more productive again by linking the Phineas back to my computer. Great advice as always.
Hi Leila, thanks for this helpful video. Well presented and not rushed as some do. I have used the info you gave to link my phone to my PC successfully.
Why I cannot open my app on my PC? I got this error "make sure both devices are on the same WiFi network". This is so annoying, I tried almost all solutions but still nothing :((
Most services like whatsapp fitbit ect already have their PC app counterpart... I use "your phone" just for the calls... but it is quite bad quality, because it isn't possible to do audio setting, like audio gain, audio threshold, etcetcetc
When you open an app on Windows it's always in portrait mode. Is there any way to change this view? I changed the phone to landscape but it that does nothing on Windows. I only had one app that natively started in landscape mode on Windows.
How do you enlarge the window on you pc? I wanted to project an app on my pc to make the screen larger, but it is the same size "virtually" on the pc as it is on my phone.
Thank you so much . I now have my phone on my laptop. I am retired with not so good eyes. is there a trick out there to allow me to view my phone as full screen on my laptop. I plan to search your videos for more tips and tricks thanks again
I have a question Dear Leila...is Ctrl and Alt exist as you want to remove a flash from your laptop please? I see so many people use it but I am wondering if it is true?
I have a OnePlus 7 pro and I want to use it as a desktop PC and mirror cast it to a tv but do you recommend buying a bluetooth m+k or would a type c to USB adapter hub for wired m+k work ?
Great tool and thanks for sharing. However given I have a Pixel the apps section is not available on my version (yet) as the most anticipated feature I was looking for is screen sharing. Say I'm on a Zoom call and want to show the participants how an app works on the mobile with screen sharing - essentially available on Samsung - you can do that. Hopefully this will be added in a future release
Very useful video.I heard about it but never used it.But after watching this video I have started to use it.I am now subscribed to your channel to get alert about such videos in future.Keep up the good work.I really like your simple, lucid but effective presentation, understandable even to non-experts like me.Thanks.
You know, MS got where it did today because of how cheap they made the OS (for windows Desktop, way back in the early days). This allowed for market saturation. Since more people in their homes had MS, businesses would even deploy MS in the work environment (less cost to train people on an OS they are already familiar with). Can you imagine if you were opening a business and didn't have the ability to support or purchase OS's to account every different employees preference (the bottom line adds up). Many organizations even by the same model machine to avoid the hours of supporting employees with so many variations of machines (not to mention different OS's). MS should have continued that marketing strategy with Windows Phone. Android, in part(put aside the google money maker), is where it is today because of how much cheaper it was to make software on it's platform. When you think of software companies writing apps for platforms - if it cost you 2 arms and 2 legs to write your app for an OS and either - your demographic on that platform or the platforms saturation isn't there -> then it isn't worth the money to write the app. Think of that like a poison. Since companies weren't writing apps for Windows Phone, they lost market share -> because people wanted Apps on other platforms. Instead of thinking about making (raking) a profit off the the desktop name brand. MS should have first solidified the market share first (with extremely low costs to publishing apps on the mobile OS). I brought all that up just to add: It's crazy how Apple doesn't want certain staples of their platform on other platforms (like FaceTime or iMessage to be available outside of an idevice). People use Apps like Discord/Zoom/Skype/WhatsApp..... because they are cross platform. Not including your platforms staples to other platforms limit your company's reach. I see people posting RU-vid videos for years asking for FaceTime or iMessage solutions on devices not owned by Apple..... I myself have been using an iPhone for ~ 7 years..... and for the past few years, the hardware for Androids seem to be better. I have thought about switching to Android; and as time goes on, the benefits Apple has for me gets smaller and smaller. As of this post, the only feature I would like a 'natively' equivalent of on an Android is -> Apples 'Find My'. Seems funny, thinking about how big tech collects so much information about us, why wouldn't an Android have something like that natively. When I do get my hands on a natively included app like 'Find My' on an android; there will be alot of people in my immediate circle that will be switching to Android (I purchase phones for my 7 family members).
Yea there is no option to control applications or access remote control of your phone with phone companion app so I am not sure what you are cooking up here. You can only view text messages, calls, photos on phone companion app even in windows 11.
Your videos are awesome. One quick question about this app. Can you send a message to multiple contacts as individual and not group.. and can you schedule the message to be sent at a certain time? Thank you for your incredible videos and may the Lord bless you! :)
Great video I would like to know if I can leave my android phone home in the States and use the apps and features while overseas from a remote location
Nice "idea" but as of April 22, 2024, there is no "Your Phone" app for Windows 10, anywhere to be found... in my computers or at the Microsoft Store. What am I doing wrong?
