This video shows how to mirror or screen your laptop on to you Sony Bravia TV via Wi Fi. I am sure a lot of people ( esp IT folks ) work with 2 screens and this mirroring comes really handy if you are working from home.

** I noticed that screen mirroring kept disconnecting when I was connecting to the internet and connecting the laptop to the TV at the same time. So I tried connecting the TV to the internet to the Wi Fi first & then when I connected my laptop to the same Wi-fi for internet it did not affect or drop the laptop to TV connectivity.
*** I keep posting quite a number of videos every now and then & I am sure if you subscribe or simply visit my channel home page you will like them.
These tips & tricks I share with you folks are not only computer/technology related however they span all other domains like food,daily life tricks etc.

Hey bro. Thank you for the helpful video. I am trying to connect my win 10 laptop to my Bravia TV. I managed to established a successful connection however, the TV shows a black screen instead of mirroring my laptop screen. Hi there buddy, I would recommend to go over the process once again, in my effort also the connection was quite bad in first few attempts, it takes time to load.

Can you cast your TV to laptop. I mean whatever is being displayed on TV to be displayed on your laptop screen??

I am sure there would a way, I am guessing via HDMI to HDMI or VGA to HDMI cable because most of the laptops these days have a HDMI port.

I'm going to try this out later on in the week, but for now, how is the refresh/speed quality of watching videos on your laptop through the cast onto the tv? Is the playback pretty much sync? Or is there lag? And what about audio? Thanks guy.

Yes, thats the whole idea because when you are extending the screen on to the TV, you have 2 screens. So you open a movie & then drag it on to the TV screen & keep working on the laptop.

Thanks for sharing these instructions. It was a bit different for my older Sony Smart TV (KDL-70520A)...but the concept is the same. Make sure your TV is connected to your network, make sure your laptop has Miracast, On the TV, got to Inputs and select screen mirroring, then add your TV to your laptop as a wireless device.

I have tried this multiple time with Surface to Sony Bravia. The problem seems to come after I am connected to WiFi and then select WiFi Direct. The TV disconnects from WiFi. Then they will not shake hands even though they both recognize the other device.

Hi, I am unable to connect and the msg on my DELL laptop says " something went wrong , your display couldn't connect" is it something to do with the display resolution. I am trying to connect from DELL laptop (Resolution 1920x1080) to Sony Bravia KDL 48W700C . Can you please see if you can help??

I couldnt find my TV in Bluetooth and other devices - "Wireless display or dock" so I tried the third option " Everything else "and it was there! anyway it gave me a pin and everything but it could NOT register and it wasn't known to the laptop under the "play" section like yours anyone else have the same problem?

Frankly, I am not sure sure of the Miracast compatibility on a lot of products. If your laptop has Miracast and the TV has all connectivity capacity, it should work

Hallo ich habe eine 10 50 ti habe normal aufgebauten PC mein Fernseher kackt ab also kackt ab in dem Sinne sobald ich seven days to dye starte auf dem 55 Zoll Fernseh ruckelt das Spiel nur noch aber Strich es kleiner ist das Spiel normal auf 2600 vielleicht hast du einen Tipp was es sein könnte wir haben schon vieles versucht Arbeitsspeicher rein gesetzt Windows neu aufgearbeitet arbeitet und seven days ruckelt immer noch farming läuft im Gegensatz zu seven days normal das Spiel heißt seven days to die Alpha 17 ich habe auch genügend Arbeitsspeicher drin

I went though the process and the final step my connection fails. The TV says connected to 1 device, etc and my PC shows the TV, entered password and the TV shows up when I select Project and select the TV to connect to. it tries for about 20 sections then displays "couldn't connect". Tried several times but just not getting the final step. In the WIFI device list the TV shows up saying "no internet, secured".

I was having the same problem of connection going down but I didnt see this "No Internet, secured", did you make sure that your TV was connected to the internet even before you start this process of connecting from laptop ?

I have an Android TV of Sony made (Sony KDL 43W800). Can any one say me the settings (Brightness, Contrast, contrast ratio, Color etc) of the TV so that I/we will be in entertaining experience ?The TV is purchased about 3/4 month back. Initial it can be connected to internet through google cast(/google crome cast) (in built with the TV) through my Android mobile (Lenovo K5 note VIVE). Both the devises have google cast/croome cast.1ST -> share my internet through Tethering & portable hotspot (portable WLAN hotspot)2ND -> I try to connect the TV & my mobile through google cast. ... ... ... .... meanwhile the internet connection of TV (through hotspot) is disconnected(/disappearing).So, I cant Connect my TV with my mobile after sever trial.Please Help.

I had the same problem with my Sony Tv and tech support was clueless. I did manage to figure it out on my own ( only after hours and hours of trying possiable solutions). The Key is IF you are using any web browser on your computer (with your computer being a non apple brand) The computer WILL NOT cast to Your TV UNLESS you are using a google chrome browser. Once you download Google Chrome Browser to your computer you should be able to cast to your tv.

What does that help ? .. The quality is poor and those issues are not covered by guarantee, not even the mandatory rights by Swedish law. I got micro-small bubbles on the screen with white spots on my 6 month new Sony TV, I saw also the amount increased next day, possibly initialized by the hot temperature those days. Sony claimed I have broken the TV by violence, even but Sony's conclusion was only based on my written description of the failure. While I had to pay $150 to the shop for "fail-analysis". Also the TV had to be disconnected from the supply once in the while due to frozen functionality.

I have followed up to a point the tv is showing in bluetooth and other devices as wireless displays and docks and other devices (not connected) but when i click on it to connect, it just comes up with a box saying remove device option but does not connect. I hit windows P and got the project screen and clicked on connect to a wireless display, the tv comes up with ,display, written under it, i clicked on this and it said can not display after a few seconds of thinking. what do i try next?

I have a question. I have a Sony Bravia 2016 XBR65X850D TV & 2017 HP laptop. When I mirror the screen from my laptop to my TV there is a serious lag of what I do on my laptop to when it shows up on my TV. It's over a 30 second lag. Do you know how to fix this? The software on my TV is up to date.

Rajesh, I have seen a few people getting this error because their TV & laptop are not connected to the same Wi -Fi. so once the method that seems to get us this connectivity is, connecting both TV and the laptop to the Wi -Fi first, I would suggest just go through the video once and see if you missed any step.

Hi, well first things first, are you making sure that your laptop and TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi ? because thats what I have seen is required in most of the screen mirroring attempts, also I have to agree that even my mirroring was unstable when I did that, what is the error message you get

The connection is intermittent initially,but if the TV doesnt connect to the WiFi, this mirroring wont work at all.

first of all thanks a lot for this video. I have a 2014 Sony BRAVIA (Malaysian model) and almost same hp laptop which you have used. But it doesn't cast either from my moto x4 phone or laptop. and you will not believe that I had a very basic model of a Panasonic smart phone (Rs 5500/-) when i had purchased this TV and that smart phone used to get connected in jus one touch. Other than that, it never connected with my any of the devices. Alas!

I'm done with all the steps but at the end my laptop says "Couldn't Connect" and on my Bravia TV it has a note "Registration Failed". Is the problem on my hardware? I checked on my laptops driver and it supports metacast. Mine is ASUS X455LF, i3-4005U CPU @1.70GHz Intel(R) Core (TM) processor. Thank you for an answer..

I've been trying to do the same but sadly it after hitting connect, the tv shows preparing screen mirroring and then the pc shows couldn't connect. Mine is a Sony Bravia - 32w562d and I have a win 10 laptop.

Midhun, I would suggest you go through t he procedure once again because the model you mention supports miracast so it shouldnt be a problem. As far as the connectivity goes, yes I faced the same issue. It took quite an amount of time to connect
