Another tip for filling curved surfaces is to bend your plastic spreader slightly to give it more surface area underneath that edge. This allows more buildup of filler.

Such great knowledge, thank you Chris! Couldn't agree more the 180 scratches even from a da with an interface pad. They were showing up after several months on my first project. I like the USC Icing, been using on my cakes that I been baking as well lately. Much sweeter than Dolphin Glaze with no fishy aftertaste!

Sadly you can't get Gold in the UK now, but UPol Premium Dolphin filler (not the glaze) is a pretty good substitute.

Excellent video (I follow all your video's from down under Aust) what size tip did you use? as i have the same R500 gun and an Aeropro A610 Just in the middle of setting up my own double garage as my DIY spray booth as need to do a full car respray on my 89 midnight blue Merc 560SEL and my black 88 560SEC (as to spray guns i also own a Devilbiss GTI and a Pro lite and a Sagola 4600 T/Truck for clear but i am digging your vids on these LVLP guns for spraying in home garage scenario to keep overspray to a minumum) . I am not a painter by any means but do all my work at home on my 3 x classic cars as i also have a workshop with hoist behind my double garage As to compressors i have a 100Ltr compressor + 2 x 100 Ltr extra tanks plumbed in = 300Ltrs/80gal + Delro heat exchanger + 1inch copper pipe wall mounted large moisture trap with 3 x ball check drain valves feeding a 3 stage filter system - so making sure i get nice clean air that will keep up with a HVLP gun @ say max 30PSI and easily handle a LVLP gun on full car respray. Getting the garage to flow air correctly is currently my project/challange and any input would be appeciated (size 21ft long x 19ft wide x 8 ft high - going to build an intake plenum for filters at rear mounted high and 2 x exhaust plenums at front (as my double garage door is a tilt door & not a roller door unfortunately. I have ordered 2 x explosion proof 400mm axial exhaust fans & have 2 x wall mount 500mm axial intake fans as want to get this garage working like a booth as it will be sealed Perhaps you can do a video on this topic seeming you spray in your open workshop

Sounds to me like you've done your research and have a great diy set up. Just the set you described is better than what I'm using every day. 🤣 To answer your question I'm using a 1.3 on the R500. I am building a booth it's started but slow going because of time. So I will be eventually doing some videos on that. Appreciate your comment and support brother!

Before I started making videos I never used guide coat did it all by feel. I had to share how to use it because it's a great tool and it takes time to get a feel with your hand. I can feel things that guide coat sometimes won't show, believe it or not. If you keep working on the skill you'll get it. Appreciate the support!

White is the best color to use under red for coverage. However i would primer before painting for a extra chip resistance or you could seal it before painting. Appreciate the comment brother!

No, single stage does not require clear coat. 2k urethane primer would work well.

It's ok to put filler on metal. You want to check the TDS or technical data sheet for the product your using. As long as it properly sanded metal, paint, aluminum in most cases

@@GarageNoise for the price the platinum plus is comparable to the 3m platinum plus but I don't do traditional collision work anymore I left that side and went to doing custom and restoration work so I do alot of skim coat on panels
